Starting in 2025–2026, our team will introduce three weekly awards. At this age, we won’t assign captains — but that doesn’t mean we aren’t building leaders. These awards are about recognizing the individual efforts that reflect our team values and highlight the kind of players we want to develop. While they’re given to individuals, they’re rooted in our team-first culture.
Apple Award - On average, there are over 900 passes in an NHL game. The Apple Award goes to the player who makes others better. Whether it’s a perfectly timed pass, a heads-up play to spring a linemate, or consistent setups in practice and games — this award is all about team play. “Apple” is hockey slang for an assist, and there’s no better way to celebrate putting your teammates in a position to succeed.
The Beauty Bucket - Being called a beauty is the ultimate hockey compliment. It’s not just skill — it’s personality, positivity, and doing the little things that matter. Beauties block shots. They backcheck hard. They make teammates laugh in the room and pick them up when they’re down. On and off the ice, this award is about being that player everyone loves to go to battle with.
Captain Clutch - Leadership shows up in all kinds of ways, but staying cool under pressure is what this award is all about. Big moments don’t just happen by chance — they’re earned through the work players put in every day. The extra effort in practice, the focus on details, and the commitment to doing things right all prepare a player to rise when the game is on the line. Captain Clutch goes to the teammate who proves that preparation pays off and delivers when it matters most.
