The website is designed to be a hub for player development away from the rink. Think of it as a place where players can sharpen their skills with visuals, build an understanding of mindset, and gain hockey knowledge in between practices and games.
Homework isn’t mandatory, but players will hear it show up in locker room discussions and after practice.
Players should bookmark the Engagement and Homework tab on their device for quick access.
Parents are welcome to support, but responsibility rests with the player — each household can approach this their own way.
Each player will get a notebook — easiest if it lives in the car so it’s always handy.. Assignments will often be simple but meaningful, including:
Fitness tests and challenges
Growth mindset exercises
Reviewing concepts taught on the ice
The notebook is the player’s own tool. They’re free to use it for journaling, goal setting, doodles, hockey drawings, or anything else. By season’s end, it could be a keepsake from our shared success.
Homework isn’t graded, but players will be asked about their attempts and learnings. This is their responsibility — accountability is part of development.
Hockey is a big commitment — between practices, travel, hotels, and equipment, it’s easy to forget how much goes into a season. Thank you for your dedication to your player and this team. Please know you’ll have that same commitment from me as a coach.
I’m approachable and happy to chat about hockey or your player’s development anytime. Don’t hesitate to reach out.
I’m excited for what’s ahead — Matt will keep you updated on team logistics.
See you at the rink,
Coach Kyle | Sabres 10U
