Paper Trails is coming to Nanaimo Fringe Festival 2026!
Sarah Carter is an interdisciplinary performance artist living, working, and learning on the unceded traditional territories of the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), Stó:lō, Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh), and xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) Nations colonially known as Vancouver, as well as the Secwépemc (Shushwap Interior Salish) lands of 100 Mile House.
Their interests lie in exploring the audience-performer relationship and how breaking the fourth wall can be used effectively to invite audience participation and interaction. They love exploring the world of cringe theatre: What makes us cringe and why? Sarah is currently completing their BFA in Theatre & Performance at Simon Fraser University's School for the Contemporary Arts. They are part of the Cariboo Players Theatre Troupe, and founded 100 Mile Youth Theatre in 2024.
