The PTA provides two types of support directly to Rutherford teachers: house funds which can be used for classroom supplies and resources; and grants for larger scale items, resources or programs that are not funded within the current school budget.
Staff house fund levels will be announced via email in July by the PTA Treasurer. Inquiries on funds remaining can be emailed to our PTA Treasurer.
Purchasing Guidelines
Purchases can be made directly by staff reimbursement or sent to the PTA Treasurer to make the purchase tax-free on your behalf.
Purchases made with house funds or grant money remain the property of Rutherford Elementary.
Reimbursement Instructions
Staff must fill out Reimbursement request forms with receipts* to receive reimbursement for purchases made. Completed forms and receipts should be placed in the PTA Treasurer’s box in the school office.
*Online receipts must be printed and include the costs + fees for shipping/ handling & tax.
Grant funds will be split between the fall and spring to ensure all staff members have the ability to submit applications. Decisions will be communicated two weeks after the grant application window closes.
Fall Grants: Applications will be accepted July 21st - September 5th
Spring Grants: Applications for will be accepted January 1st - February 14th

Application Guidelines
Requests that benefit the whole school or can be shared by more than one classroom are typically given priority in the review process. Requests should include as much detail as possible to prevent review delay, and include shipping costs in total cost estimate.
