Survey 123  &  Instant Apps

Survey 123 distinguishes itself from Google Forms with its map question feature.

When a location marker is placed using Survey 123, all the information collected is linked to that specific point.  Use this tool to have students respond to the curriculum by collecting and then sharing their work spatially with the entire class.

Students entered their college research into the survey and placed a marker at their college's location.

The Instant App Used:  Basic

The research is displayed when the college's map point is clicked.

Creating customized symbology, like those shown on the map above, requires a few behind-the-scenes steps.

For the next example, third grade students researched a National Park and created a Canva Slideshow.  Students used Survey123 to map the location of their park and link their Canva Slideshow to that specific point for sharing with the class.

The SUrvey

Students entered text, images, PDFs, and links.

The Instant App Used:  Attachment Viewer

The Attachment Viewer Instant App embeds the students presentation into the map frame.  The slideshow and accompanying information appear when the map point is clicked.
