I have chosen to teach at a community college because I believe that it is an environment in which students can develop a strong sense of self and purpose while also developing important student and life skills. I have chosen to teach writing because I believe it is a powerful tool for self-expression, critical thinking, and change-making. My goal as an instructor is to empower all students in ways that allow them to move forward in their abilities to write clearly, thoughtfully, and persuasively so that they can become the future leaders that are such an important part of society.
