Duels are an asynchronous way for registrants and prospects to usurp titles and move up the ranks in the arena.
To begin an Arena Duel, Arena registrants contact the one directly above their rank on Discord in the Dueling Hall (for prospects this will be the last ranking member of the sub-arena). This act is known as challenging and the ones doing it are known as Challengers. Registrants being challenged are known as Titleholders.
A potential Challenger cannot challenge a Titleholder if they themselves are being challenged by someone below them or if the Titleholder already has scheduled a duel with the duelist above their rank.
Duels consist of individual matches with asymmetric roles. For the first match, the Challenger will take the role of Attacker, while the Titleholder will take the role of Defender.
Duels are always 10 Minutes long with Single Match Format.
Defenders pick the map before each match and must Ready Up first.
Attackers Ready Up second and may look at the Defender's AC in order to attempt to implement countermeasures by modifying, building or selecting an AC they deem suitable for the task.Â
The Attacker must beat the Defender one match, if they do then they swap roles and the Attacker now becomes the Defender and the previous Defender now becomes the Attacker. After the swap, they have a another match. These are known as Revenge Rounds. This means that a Duel is not over until a Defender wins a match by eliminating an Attacker. Both players keep swapping roles and having Revenge Rounds until an Attacker loses by elimination.
If a duelist wins a round without eliminating an opponent, the entire match must be repeated, this way abuse of the timer will only serve to reset the match, giving the opponent greater knowledge in which to attempt implement countermeasures once more, then building skill will be required to break any potential stalemates.
Pitfalls count as the opponent's elimination.
The winner of the duel then reports the result in the Thread they started in the Dueling Hall and tags their opponent and a moderator, so the host can verify the victory by updating the Arena Rankings Sheet, once it is verified, the winner may continue to issue a new challenge to the next Titleholder.
Keep records and messages of all discussions and matches in case there is a dispute later on.
The Zynadia Clause: If an opponent is disconnected they automatically lose the match unless you agree to a rematch. This is to prevent disconnection exploitation in order to reset the match to improve your odds.
The P.A.R.F.I. Clause: You may allow your opponent to auto-win any matches if you so choose, but you may not re-do any matches or duels because you later found out that the match or duel were not properly implemented due to misapplication or lack of implementation of any of the rules, so Pay Attention, Read & Follow Instructions and if you have doubts, do not ask your opponent, tag LuBaLu with your questions in the Dueling Hall.
