Priority Projects Working Group
The Priority Project Technical Group will form a set of guidelines to update and advance the Priority Project lists that the Service Boards presented in Invest in Transit. The group will undertake discussions focused on defining priority projects and determining the updated framework that will be used to present them with the goal of producing a Priority Projects Guidelines document and a set of overarching priorities for the region, resulting in:
Better connection to other regional planning processes (e.g. the Regionally Significant Project list for ON TO 2050) and showing the public which projects are next in line in the queue for Service Boards to advance when funding is available
Advancing transparent prioritization process and criteria required by state legislation (Public Act 102-0573, Section 2.39)
Incorporating the recommended goals, strategies, and performance measures developed by the Stakeholder Working Groups for the Strategic Plan and applying them to capital project selection and advancement
The Priority Projects Technical Group will undertake this work, in collaboration with the Service Boards and CMAP. It will also incorporate input from the Strategic Plan Movers group, and the public, through the Strategic Plan process. The outcome will be a set of Priority Project guidelines that focuses on addressing requirements outlined in new state legislation, that helps to prioritize the projects, and that includes the goals, strategies, and performance measures developed by the Strategic Plan Stakeholder Working Groups.
