About us

Welcome to the the Rock River Aero Modelers Society website. We are a non profit AMA sanctioned Organization (#669) dedicated to the construction of and flying of Model Aircraft. The club offers an AMA licensed flying field, flying instruction, plus years of building experience. We have members that fly most all disciplines of models (RC, Helicopters, Free Flight, Multi rotor (drones) racing and aerial photography)

We welcome any guests to our field that share our passion for the hobby. If you would like to fly at our field you are required have a valid AMA membership and a club membership or you may fly as a guest of a current member.

Our club consists of about 45 members and meets the first Tuesday of each month to discuss any current and future club business. Meetings are open to the anyone who would like to attend.

Latest News

10/1/18 - RRAMS MEMBERS MEETING CHANGES: The Tuesday night meeting (10/2) is canceled because of floor waxing at the Town Hall. We will meet the 2nd Tuesday Oct. 9th at 7:00 PM. Also, the November meeting is moved to the 2nd Tuesday due to elections on the 1st Tuesday. Again, 7:00 PM on November 6th.

10/1/18 - Winter meetings have begun. The October meeting will be head at the Town Hall building just down the street from the field.

7/26/18 - New runway is complete, we have added length and width!! Pictures coming soon!!

6/25/18 - July Meeting DATE CHANGE. To avoid conflict with the July 4th holiday the July meeting will be moved to July 10th at the flying field. Thank you!

5/11/2018 - The Rock River Aero Modelers have been selected to be a recipient of an AMA Field Improvement Grant. The Grant was one of 38 given out this year. We appreciate the support of the AMA to help continue to improve our flying site for our members.
