CTSFO Drivers (CTD) are highly experienced RPU members who will assist CTSFO members during operations by expertly driving them, securing perimeters, and providing additional support when needed.

The CTSFO Driver is a subdivision of RPU where members have proved their driving and communication skills to a high standard. When you become a member of the CTSFO Driver team, you will join CTSFO operations, for which you will help drive various members and suspects around. This includes taking control of pursuits, securing areas under CTSFO interrogations, meetings and pursuits of persons relating to serious organised crime. 

You should also keep in mind that this role will give you an increased chance of being accepted into SCO-19 should you apply!

In order to become a CTSFO Driver you are required to be:

• Senior Interceptor+

• Always Upholding of Police Procedures

• Excellent RP Ability

• Excellent Communications

• Good Hours

• Good Overall Standards Within RPU

There are 2 teams within CTSFO, both these team have a dedicated leader called an Operational Senior Manager. Upon joining CTD you will be placed into either of the teams listed below.

• Alpha Team

• Bravo Team

These are the acts you can use to hide your name.

• Pace Code C Section 2.6-A - Allows your identity to be hidden if you believe the person wishes to use said information with harmful intent.

Note for Guidance: 2A The purpose of paragraph 2.6A(b) is to protect those involved in serious organised crime investigations. In cases of doubt, an officer of inspector rank or above should be consulted.

• Terrorism & Counter Terrorism (TACT) - Allows you to refuse the distribution of sensitive information or evidence if the person is arrested under this act.

•  Pace Code H Section 1.14 - Allows you to refuse the distribution of evidence if you have reasonable suspicion that the suspect will become or is violent.
