The Academic Affairs Committee (AAC) is responsible for initiatives and legislation pertinent to academic curricula, academic advising, post-graduate success, the Registrar’s office, and student-faculty relations. They make sure students have access to academic resources and have a fair voice in student-faculty matters.

The Student Life Committee (SLC) is responsible for initiatives and legislation pertinent to student rights, residence life, quality of life and well-being, and the Division of Student Life portfolio. Current projects are working to improve mental health resources, editing RPI Title IX policy and procedures, creating additional off campus housing resources, and more.

The Community Relations Committee (CRC) is responsible for initiatives which bring the campus community together around shared causes and to engage with businesses and outreach opportunities in downtown Troy.

The Residential Life and Dining Committee (RLDC) is responsible for initiatives and legislation related to campus housing and dining. They gather student feedback on dorms, housing selection, off-campus living, and dining services, and work closely with Hospitality Services and Residential Life to address concerns. The RLDC advocates for improvements to both residential life and dining programs to ensure they meet the needs of RPI students.

The Facilities and Services Committee (FSC) is responsible for initiatives and legislation concerning campus facilities and student services, particularly those overseen by the Administration Division. They gather student feedback, inspect the state of facilities and services, and work with Institute personnel to address concerns and implement practical solutions that improve everyday life at RPI. The current ongoing projects are 87 Gym Repurpose/Renovation and the Safe Ride Program.

The Web Technologies Group (WTG) is responsible for developing and maintaining the digital tools and platforms of the Student Senate. They support committees with their technological needs, design solutions to student concerns, and manage Student Government web services and archives. The WTG also contributes to the Union’s online presence and advises on policies related to technology and digital infrastructure.

The Senate Communications and Engagement Committee (SCEC) is responsible for promoting the initiatives, projects, and advocacy of the Student Senate. They provide accurate information to the student body, gather student concerns and opinions, and foster open discussion on issues facing the Senate. The SCEC also coordinates with other Senate committees, Union bodies, and Institute administration to strengthen communication, build trust, and ensure student voices are heard.
The Union Annual Report (UAR) Committee is a motivated team of students that prepares our Union’s Annual Report with updates from the past year and a release of the budget for the next fiscal year. Each year, the report is completed post-budgeting and then presented to the Senate for approval. Upon approval, the document is presented to the Institute’s Administration, Board of Trustees, and campus community. The report serves to break down where the student activity fee is used throughout the Union and update Union members on facilities, programming, and club changes over the past year. This committee is joint with the Executive Board.

The Elections Commission's (EC) primary job is to facilitate GM Week and Freshman elections each year. They are responsible for publicizing, conducting, and supervising all student elections for officers and representative of the governing bodies of the Union.
