Did you know that hundreds of students in DeKalb County face housing instability each year, and many families struggle to afford basic hygiene products that are often not covered by assistance programs?

Each April, the Rotaract Club of Sycamore leads a community-wide hygiene initiative supporting local students and families through the Spartan Food Pantry (Sycamore School District 427) and Barb Food Mart (DeKalb School District 428).
We are so grateful to everyone who supported our 2026 April Hygiene Drive! Your generosity and willingness to partner with us made a meaningful difference, and we truly couldn't do this work without the support of our community!
Although our Hygiene Drive has ended, the need for these items remains strong. If you wish to continue to support the Spartan Food Pantry or the DeKalb Food Mart, below is their website.

Bedtime Story Kits for CASA Children
Bedtime Story Kits for CASA Children
The Rotaract Club of Sycamore is developing 20 screen-free bedtime story kits for children served by CASA DeKalb County. Each planned kit will include a Yoto Mini audio player, kid-safe Bluetooth headphones, a protective carrying case, and age-appropriate stories.
Club members will help record stories and prepare easy-to-use instructions before the completed kits are delivered to CASA. The goal is to provide comfort, routine, and a sense of belonging through accessible stories and screen-free listening.

Adopt a Classroom
The Rotaract Club of Sycamore supports students and teachers in Sycamore, DeKalb, and Genoa-Kingston with free books through our annual Adopt a Classroom project.
During the 2026–27 school year, 15 selected classrooms are receiving one brand-new book for every student each month from October through May. Students keep the books, helping build home libraries and lifelong reading habits.

Scholarship Fund for Interact Club of Sycamore High School
This Scholarship Fund is for Sycamore High School graduates who have been active in the Interact Club of Sycamore High School and have plans to engage in service after high school. We were excited to award $1000 to a graduating senior in May of each year!

Warming Hearts
Warming Hearts
We were so excited to collaborate with the Juvenile and Family Law Association at NIU on our Warming Hearth Project! Together our clubs collected winter weather donations for Safe Passage. Our apparel donations were coupled with a monetary donation so that Safe Passage could purchase what they needed for their residents. Our donation warmed the hearts of residents at Safe Passage just in time for Valentine's Day!

Each coat ornament represents a winter coat donated to a Sycamore student in need by a Rotarian. We are so grateful to have worked with the Rotary Club of Sycamore and the Interact Club of Sycamore High School to meet a need within our community!

We love partnering with other Rotary sponsored clubs in our community, so we were thrilled to help facilitate and support the EarlyAct Club at North Grove Elementary's Senior Care Package Drive! Students at North Grove collected items for the residents at the Grand Victorian in Sycamore to help brighten their day during the COVID-19 Pandemic. Way to be Service Above Self, EarlyAct!
