To truly capture its unique character, I commissioned bespoke tiles, crafted to reflect the bird’s rich colour palette and feathered texture. The result is a piece that feels alive with detail, where every tile plays a role in expressing the cockatoo’s charm and subtle complexity.
Created in honour of my father, whose quiet determination and love for the natural world deeply influenced me. Over the course of 21 years, he planted three gums—waiting seven years each time to see if the tree would bloom red. His third try, finally revealed the brilliant red blossoms he had hoped for.
Inspired by a photo I took in our own gully—a quiet moment of connection with one of Australia’s most iconic creatures. Created using stained glass and slate, the colours chosen the koala and its environment are inseparable. That without our eucalyptus trees, we would have no koalas.
