Lindsey Nielsen, Founder and President
Lindsey has been an animal lover her whole life, growing up in a family that had not only dogs and cats, but monkeys and prairie dogs. As an adult she made the connection that if she truly loved animals, she shouldn't continue consuming animal products, and at the age of 18 she went vegan. She also became a veterinarian, and currently provides life saving care to animals as a critical care veterinary specialist in her full time job. She loves being able to come home to her household of mixed species after a rough day at work. She finds animal enrichment and getting to know each animal's personality fulfilling. Her husband Aaron and her are also avid science fiction fans, so many of the animal residents are named after various science fiction characters.
Aaron (Waldorf) Nielsen, Founder and Treasurer
Aaron had been vegetarian for years, but made the transition to becoming vegan after dating Lindsey. Aaron has been able to build so much infrastructure for the ranch since we started rescuing animals in 2023. He is the full time ranch care taker and constant construction worker.
Ashleigh Klein-Jiminez, Secretary
Ashleigh is an animal lover and has her own farm full of rescues, Quiggle Acres. Her and her wife Hilda love helping farm animals in need and want to help people unserstand the plight of the "mini pig".
Hilda Klein-Jiminez
Hilda and Ashleigh have their own farm and menagerie at home, but Hilda also has experience in the veterinary field, having worked with animals for decades. Hilda is a social justice warrior in the surrounding community.
Mikaela McGonagle
Mikaela has a passion for animal care and welfare. She has been working in the veterinary field and been vegan since 2013. She is close to complete an associated degree in veterinary technology. She loves biking, paddle boarding, and spending time outdoors with her son and dogs.
Rory Pond board members are all proud members or allies of the LGBTQ community. We believe in diversity, equity, and inclusion. We support minorities, and our ranch is a safe space for those who need it. We do not accept any forms of hate, discrimination, racism, sexism, violence, intolerance, or bigotry.
Lindsey and Aaron saved up and searched for the perfect country property for years, and finally bought a 5 acre property in Wilton in 2023. The property has a seasonal pond to help with winter flooding. Since their first pig rescue, Rory, was named after a famous Doctor Who companion (Rory Pond), the name "Rory Pond Rescue Ranch" had several appropriate references in its title. Living in the country also provides an opportunity to live alongside wildlife, with numerous bird, amphibian, reptile, and mammal species frequenting the property. Lindsey and Aaron do their best to live in harmony with these animals while providing protection to their rescues from predators and avian influenza.
