Rory Pond/Williams
Rory was the pig who started it all, the first large farm animal that Lindsey and Aaron adopted in the summer of 2019. Rory was abandoned by his original owners when they moved out of their home, and when they were contacted about leaving their pig behind they told their neighbors they could sell him for meat. Rory is an affectionate, smart, loving pig. He has formed relationships with all the farm residents, but particularly loves cuddling with his chicken companions. He also loves chin scratches and belly rubs.
Clara the Impossible Turkey
Clara was our first farm animal rescue EVER. She was found living under a picnic table at an industrial park in Sacramento. She joined the family in 2018. Though she can be ornery with many people, she clearly loves her adopted family of rescued farm animals.
Inigo
Inigo is one of three male sheep that joined us in the spring of 2025. He and Yuki have become fast friends and love to play chase together.
Ronald Weasley
The Weasleys came to the ranch in the spring of 2023. They came from the goat breeding industry and a family who could not properly care for them anymore. They initially came feral, meaning they were terrified of being near or touched by humans. No they demand pets.
Fred Weasley
Another of the Weasley group, Fred is still the most scared of people, but he is the most adventorous when it comes to his appetite. Here he can be seen eating a reed from one end to the other. Fred loves to chew on branches, leaves, and anything organic he can get his teeth on.
George Weasley
The last of the Weasleys rescued in spring 2023, George has become quite the outgoing, demanding goat. He likes the area around his horns rubbed, and though he would not let us touch him for the first month we had him, now he regularly head butts us to demand more attention and treats.
Billie Eilish
Billie was brought tothe wildlife clinic as an orphaned domestic pigeon. We took her in and hand raised her until she could join the flock.
Jadzia Dax
Jadzia is a domestic turkey that was found wandering a neighborhood looking for a family. She was taken to the local wildlife clinic, but being a domestic bird placement was found for her with us.
Gladys
Gladys is a very sweet old lady pig with severe arthritis. Her original piggy yard-mate was killed by dogs and she was take to Oakland Animal Services, then fostered by Charlie's Acres until she joined our sanctuary. She is on a lot of pain medications and cleary has a stiff neck, but still motors about, loves her mud wallow, and loves giving kisses and cuddles.
Cordelia
Cordelia was originally a baby pig purchased to be in a petting zoo, but once she got too old and big to be "cute" she was neglected and abandoned until Charlie's Acres took her in, started a weight loss program for her obesity (and all the health probles that come with it), and fostered her until she joined our sanctuary.
Cedric Diggory
Cedric and his mom, Tonks, were abandoned by their original owners. Luckily the owner who moved in took care of them but started searching for a more goat friendly sanctuary for them. They ended up with us and within just a couple days have integrated with their new herd.
Nymphadora Tonks (Tonks)
Tonks is mother to Cedric. She is still fiercely protective of him even though he is a lot larger than her. She is brave, bold, and takes her role as matriarch seriously.
Nyssa
Nyssa was adopted after being discarded by the factory farm industry in the spring of 2019. Sadly all her companions that came with her have passed away from reproductive complications. After arriving at the larger Wilton property in 2023, Nyssa decided she wanted to be a house chicken at night. She started coming in and spends her nights cuddled up in a cat bed or next to her dog friends, but spends her days outdoors with the flock in chicken daycare.
Leia
Little baby Leia was brought to the wildlife clinic that Lindsey volunteers at in August 2024. She had a necrotic, injured toe that Lindsey amputated, then after recovering joined our flock. She has a slight limp sometimes when she runs, but otherwise she is quite fast, and loves watermelon and playing with her flock mates.
Josephine "Jo" Grant
Jo and her two siblings were an unexpected rescue for Lindsey and Aaron. After getting the news that their new property in Wilton was officially theirs, they got a message from the original owners that sold the property informing them that they had already moved out, and left their three hens behind, and hopes we would provide a good home to them. While we were saddened that they could be abdandoned like this, Aaron drove over to the new property and rescued the three girls from horrible rain and floods so they could stay with the rest of the flock until moving back to their original property 2 months later. Jo is quite skittish, and in the summer is the most broody of all our hens.
Luna Lovegood
Luna was found wandering a busy intersection and brought to the wildlife clinic that Lindsey volunteers her services at. Luna joined the flock in the summer of 2021. She absolutely loves dust baths.
Furiosa
Furiosa was brought to the Santa Cruz shelter with a leg injury. She was found to have torn all the ligaments in her ankle, but she still gets around great, and we are working with a compay to build a splint for her.
Pauli, formerly Polly
Pauli came with several young hens from an abandonment rescue in the summer of 2023. Initially Polly was thought to be a hen like his sisters, but about 2 months after he was adopted he transformed in to a rooster overnight! Pauli was subsequently moved to his own enclousure and we started our bachelor flock because of him.
Wilfred Mott
Wilfred was clearly the alpha roo of the flock rescued in February 2024 from an abandonment situation. He spends time protecting his girls and making sure they get all the food they need. Hopefully he will adjust to joining the bachelor flock after getting through quarantine.
Beau
Beau, originally an FFA sheep scheduled for slaughter, found sanctuary at Lilly's Animal Sanctuary in southern California when his child could not let him be killed. He came to us when his original sanctuary came under tragic circumstances, and now he will live out his senior years with our flock.
Davros
Davros is the bossiest of the three brothers that came to us in January 2024, but he is adjusting well to his new life in the bachelor flock as Pauli's number one.
Nardole
Nardole is the most timid of the three brothers that came to us in January 2024, but he loves dust bathing and sunning himself. He doesn't interact with the other roosters much and is happy to enjoy life on his own.
Romana
Romana was rescued from an abandonment situation in February 2024 where a free range flock left to fend to themselves was slowly being picke off by predators. Though not quite used to being in an enclosed area, Romana loves to lay eggs in her cushy nesting boxes.
Alonso
Alonso was also rescued in February 2024 from an abandonment situation where all the chickens were being eaten by predators. He is very talkative and curious about what is going on around him.
Bannakaffalatta
Bana came to us from a wonderful family that got him and his brother from a breeder, but both turned out to be roos and they aren't allowed roos where they are. The boys were named by us after Doctor Who characters they look like. They love each other, and their original family has gone on to adopt chickens in the future!
Karvanista
Karvey came with Bana and these boys are absolutely beautiful. They cuddle together every night in the coop, and strut their stuff during the day.
Tegan Jovanka
Tegan came to us with her siblings in the summer of 2023 from an abandonment situation. Most of them were still quite young, and are still growing in to their long and lanky legs.
Carol Danvers
Carol joined us in January 2024 when her original owner passed away, and the woman who inherited her wanted to find her a forever home where she would live a life of luxury and love. She is super sweet and brave and curious.
Melanie Bush
Mel joined us in the winter of 2024 after being rescued from an abandonment situation. Her flock was slowly being picked off by predators. She and her sister Romana started out terrified of people and other animals, but after a couple weeks she has become brave and bold, and has lots of friends in her new flock.
Fezzik
Fezzik is a male sheep that came from a hoarding situation in Petaluma. He and his brothers now get to explore several acres of pasture every day instead of being cramped in a tiny space.
Birdie Sanders
Birdie Sanders was rescued in Oregon but sustained significant injuries to their wing, which prevents them from flying. They joined our flock in 2025 and instantly fit in.
Jyn Urso
Jyn came with her five sisters from the Animal Place rescue of winter 2024. Jyn is definitely the bravest and boldest of her. She is a rebel at heart, hence her name.
Ryan
Ryan and his brothers joined us in March 2024, bringing our bachelor flock up to 11 roos total. Ryan is our first gentleman rooster allowed to live with the hens as he is super well behaved with them.
Theoden
Theoden, formerly called brother, joined us in June 2025. He was very loved by his family but they were unable to keep him, and now he has joined our rooster flock.
Sutekh
Sutekh and his brothers joined us in March 2024. Sutekh has the cutest gray eyebrows and shiny red feathers.
Lilly
Lilly, the namesake of Lilly's Animal Sanctuary, was originally an FFA sheep saved from slaughter. She joined our flock in 2025 and will get to live out her senior years in style with us.
Shmi Skywalker
Shmi was also rescued by Animal Place in the winter of 2024. She is quite sweet and has befriended many of the hens in our flock.
Vizzini
Vizzini and his two companions joined us in spring 2025 from a hoarding situation. Vizzini is still the most skittish of the group but is learning to trust us.
Lizzo
We rescued 30 pigeons from an abandonment situation in pretty deplorable conditions in the spring of 2024. We are happy to report they are all doing great in their new custom aviary!
Mike
Mike the pigeon was named after Mike Knee who helped build the aviary for these pigeons in urgent need of rescue.
Neville
Neville and his companion Minerva were brought to us in November 2024 when their owner had to leave them in an unsafe situation. They are now happily living out their life on our sanctuary, making new friends and enjoying their new space.
Bo Katan
Bo came to us with Maul and Cara; they had been abandoned at Golden Gate Park until a good sam caught them and kept them in her apartment, searching for a permanent loving home for them. They found it with us!
Joaquin Phoenix
We rescued 30 pigeons from an abandonment situation in pretty deplorable conditions in the spring of 2024. We are happy to report they are all doing great in their new custom aviary!
Margaret
Margaret was named after a donor's mother, who is scared of birds. Having a beautiful pigeon like Margaret named after you will hopefully help you appreciate birds more!
Cricket
Cricket was one of the more curious and interactive pigeons when the rescuers originally started caring for them and trying to find them homes.
Fly'a Maya Moore
Named after a famous basketball (WNBA) player and social justice advocate.
Mija Marie
Named by a donor and long time animal right's advocate and fellow vegan friend.
Pelican
Named by a bird rescuer for one of her favorite species that in 2024 is suffering a strange mysterious illness resulting in very emaciated, weak pelicans.
Minerva
Minerva and her friend Neville came to us around Thanksgiving time 2024. Their owner had to leave them for her own safety and was able to find them a forever home with us. Minerva is an older gal who loves sunning herself.
Harry Sullivan
Harry was found abandoned in a park in Sacarmento, CA. He is our first ever male turkey rescue. He is incredibly curious about all his surroundings and starting to find his feet.
Cher Ami
Named by a donor after one of the most famous pigeons ever. If you don't know much about pigeons, you should look up some cool facts about them, including that they were domesticated before chickens!
Sue Bird
Another famous female basketball player and activist, these pigeons have some amazing names to live up to! In Ocobter 2024 Sue Bird and Encanto became an item.
Lexington
Named by a donor and regular helper at fundraising for Rory Pond Rescue.

Sandy
Named by the child of one of the original rescuers of the pigeons.
Kyle O. Thorax

Ricky Gervais
We rescued 30 pigeons from an abandonment situation in pretty deplorable conditions in the spring of 2024. We are happy to report they are all doing great in their new custom aviary!
Encanto
When rescuers were notified about these pigeons in need, they set up schedules to care for them and replace eggs with fake eggs while finding them homes. An egg was missed, and Encanto was born. But he was taken care of by a rescuer until he was large enough to handle joining the flock at their new home. This picture is a baby picture, but in October 2024 Encanto and Sue Bird became an item.
Mirabel
Mirabel was the pigeon caring for Encanto, so we assume his mom, and she deserved a name fitting of being his mom.
Moby
Long time vegan and animal rights activist and musician Moby deserved to have a pigeon named after him.
Nancy
When we named Mike after the volunteer who helped us build our aviary, we decided to name the pigeon Mike was courting after his wife, Nancy!
Kitara
Kitara has a long history of NOT being one of the flock, but being rehomed many times. He started out as a clinic bird at a wildlife clinic, but had a lot of anger issues, so was placed in a home as a pet. He had to be rehomed a couple times for reasons that did not relate to his behavior, but he continued to be grumpy and aggressive, so there was concern he might not do well in the flock. Luckily, he found a mate and is now super happy and integrated in this flock.
Aang
So when Kitara joined the flock there was some concern he might need to be removed and placed back in a home, but within a week he started courting Aang. Despite him sometimes being pushy, she fell for him too, and now the two take turns sitting on fake eggs on the nest they built and spending time together.
Graham
Big boy Graham was one of four rooster bros that came to us in March 2024. Their owner had over 60 roosters living together happily in a bachelor flock, but she was being forced to move and had to rehome the boys. We took four of her roos for permanent placement.
Hera
Hera and her sister Sabine were rescued by Stockton Animal Save from a slaughter house animal vigil. These two girls had the trauma of watching their friends be killed, but they will know nothing but love in their new home.
Glory (Glorificus)
The magnificent Glorificus was rescued by several people from the northern California rescue community when they became aware that she had a prolapsed rectum that her owner was unable to get taken care of. She went to Davis for emergency surgery, recovered in foster care with Kim's Nuturing Nest, then came to us to have a new forever home.
Anya
Anya joined us in the summer of 2024. She was living in a tiny enclosure in a trailer park and her owner could no longer care for her; euthanasia was being considered. Anya came to us very overweight at just 6 months of age, but otherwise is full of love and curiousity. We look forward to watching her live out her life with us.
Strax
Strax joined us in the summer of 2022 with her siblings Jenny Flint and Madame Vastra. Sadly both her sisters passed away shortly after adoption, but Strax is healthy and wild. She is very nervous around people, and very active, running around exploring most of the day. She was adopted when a neighbor begged us to give her and her siblings refuge as her husband was planning to slaughter them for not laying enough eggs.
Riker
Riker was one of two twin boys born to Alison in March 2025. He was the first born (aka number one) and is a rambunctious little man. He thinks he is part human, and follows Aaron around like a puppy. He has also befriended many animals on the sanctuary.
Sally Sparrow
Friends from a rescue we have worked with reached out to us about 26 hens that had been abandoned in deplorable conditions. We lived closer to the rescue site than our friends, and we were able to give 5 of them a new loving home in the summer of 2023. Sally is bold and confident.
Mandy
Mandy joined Rory Pond in the winter of 2025 with her companions Beau and Lilly. These three older sheep integrated quickly with the flock and now are loving their green pastures.
Cosima
Cosima and her family came to us in October 2024 when a homesteader that was down sizing decided to spare their lives and let them live out their life in sanctuary.
Helena
Helena is the most skittish of the four rescued sheep that came to us in October 2024, but we are looking forward to seeing her blossom as she realizes people are friends here.
Anakin
Anakin was a classic rooster tale- a family got chicks from the feedstore and had no idea they might turn out to be roosters. Whenever we take on a rooster from a family we ask them to adopt in the future to prevent this from happening.
Count Dooku
We received a frantic call from one of our neighbors that a baby turkey had shown up on their property and was cornered by their dogs. We went to help, and turns out the baby turkey was actually a baby rooster, but his owners were nowhere to be found and he still needed a safe landing spot, so we took him in.
Anita
Anita was initially rescued by a good samaratin that frequently rescues discarded baby chicks from a nearby sanctuary. She and her sisters were literally thrown in the dumpster after hatching, still covered in egg shee=lls.
Poppy
Luckily these three one day old babies were rescued and brought to Only Sunshine, where they were raised until we gave them a permanent home once they were old enough to live outside.
Joy
Joy, Anita, and Poppy are three of the happiest hens we have at Rory Pond, escaping a life at an egg factory, and after being rescued from a dumpster, spending their life surrounded by humans who love them.
Domino
Domino and her brother Nick Fury came to us in December 2025 from an animal cruelty case. She, Nick, and two other alves were on a property with over 100 animals packed in, including over a dozen dead animals. Two of the four calves passed before being saved, but Nick and Domino get to live their lives out wth us.
Nick Fury
Nick came to us in December 2025 with his sister Domino from a tragic animal cruelty case. Nick came with injuries to both eyes, and is blind in his left eye. While incredibly skittish and traumatized on arrival, even after one week Nick and Dom started to accept pets and love.
To date we have rescued over 100 farm animals!
32 pigeons
7 goats
7 pigs
9 sheep
1 cow
5 turkeys
51 chickens (hens)
17 roosters
1 livestock guardian dog
To date we have helped place 25 farm animals in to loving, permanent homes.
