Wax & Wane
An Older Girls Circle
There comes a point where young women begin to feel the shift.
A pull toward independence, identity, and self-direction…
but without always having the space or guidance to move through it with clarity.
Wax & Wane exists to meet them there.
Not to rush them forward…
but to help them understand themselves as they grow.
The Work
This is a space for young women to develop self-awareness, emotional regulation, and inner stability as they move into the next chapter of their lives.
They begin to learn:
how to regulate themselves through changing emotions and environments
how to take ownership of their thoughts, choices, and actions
how to move with intention instead of reaction
how to understand their own internal rhythms
This is not about control.
It is about awareness, integration, and trust in self.
Structure & Rhythm
Wax & Wane follows a consistent, grounded rhythm:
One gathering per month for older girls only
A dedicated space for deeper conversation, reflection, and personal developmentOne integrated gathering per month with younger girls
A shared space where older girls step into leadership and mentorship
This creates both:
space for individual growth
and opportunity to practice that growth in relationship with others
Guided by Women, Becoming Mentors
This space is held by the women of the community.
Through mentorship, the girls are supported, seen, and guided by those who have walked ahead of them.
At the same time, they are invited into leadership.
Each girl is paired with a younger “buddy,” giving her the opportunity to:
practice responsibility
build confidence
learn mentorship through experience
They are not only being guided…
they are becoming guides.
Rhythm & Integration
Wax & Wane is rooted in rhythm.
The girls are introduced to the cycles of the moon, not as something to follow rigidly, but as a way to better understand their own patterns.
Over time, they begin to recognize:
when to create
when to rest
when to move forward
when to pull back
The goal is not to fit into a system…
but to become aware of what works for them as individuals.
Practices & Expression
This space incorporates both internal and creative practices that support self-regulation and expression.
They are introduced to:
meditation and breathwork
sound-based practices and nervous system regulation
reflective writing and journaling
creative outlets such as art, pottery, and music
These are tools they can carry into everyday life.
What They Gain
They are not just learning skills.
They are learning:
how to understand themselves
how to move through challenges with awareness
how to lead with steadiness and care
how to trust their own voice and direction
This is a space for transformation.
Not through pressure… but through presence, guidance, and lived experience.
