What is it like to work with us? We have provided architectural, interior and liturgical design services to worshipping communities since our formation in 1961. We are known for our expertise in ecclesiastical projects, including various types of mixed-use parish facilities and presbyteries.

We have developed a complementary specialism that focuses on people, specifically, helping clients to set building procurement in its proper context i.e. within the faith journey of those communities. Change is often traumatic, surfacing many unresolved issues that can derail any project. However, we can offer a formal carefully managed process of community involvement that has been refined through experience over the years that helps maintain perspective and obtain a desirable outcome.

We do not have an architectural ‘house style’ as such as our work is specific to each circumstance, to each site and to each client. Consequently every project has a different architectural outcome. A project is not a Rooney & McConville project, not a client project, nor design by committee. It is a synthesis unique to its time, its place and client. We are an active member of the team, challenging, inspiring and affirming.

We have developed a strong client base by successful completion of projects resulting in repeat business. Many of our projects are supported by grant aid requiring liaison and negotiation with various funding entities such as the Heritage Lottery Fund, Gubay Institute, insurance agencies, loss adjusters and statutory bodies.

We always look to the long term, both in the quality of our buildings and the service we provide. We deliver high quality design solutions often within strict constraints on cost and programme. We work on the principle that quality design adds value.

We look forward to being of service to communities. Our experience in ecclesiastical work, providing mixed-use facilities for parishes, and collaborative working method, ensures communities procure building resources that are appropriate and cost effective.
