Perched high up on the Romsey Abbey tower, next to the belfry, is a small area of roof that has been visited by peregrines during the breeding season. Spring 2025, the peregrines decided to ignore our box and camera on the tower and nest elsewhere on the Abbey. They still visited the camera site on the tower and you may be lucky to see them feeding on the live steam. Click below.

Here are a few more images of chicks at various stages. All four are doing well and have been seen in action today! One chick had a crash landing shortly after fledging (ring VLR) and was carried back up the tower in a box but is now fine.
Flags are now able to fly and access to the tower resumed as all chicks are no longer reliant on the abbey even though they are still using it as their base. Keith Betton thinks the peregrines are likely to nest in the same place next year as it has been a success.
At the end of May 2025 the following picture were captured and presented on the Romsey Abbey Facebook page.
