Participants of the Contemporary Issues in Nutrition Course offered in 2024
Online Courses: In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, I swiftly transitioned to online teaching to ensure the continuity of education. I applied this approach across undergraduate, master's, and short courses and have also taught some courses in a hybrid format.
Blended Learning: After attending the Blended Learning course offered by the Blended and Digital Learning Network at AKU, I implemented a cutting-edge blended learning approach for teaching Nutrition Epidemiology to MSc students. This method combines classroom teaching with the flexibility of online interactive elements, enhancing the learning experience and developing a deeper understanding of Nutrition Epidemiology.
Competency-Based Education: I employ a competency-based education approach, designing my courses around specific competencies relevant to the subject matter and real-world applications. For example, in my Nutrition Epidemiology and Public Health Nutrition courses, students learn to write and submit letters to the editor of peer-reviewed journals, a crucial skill for their future scientific careers.
