Welcome to the visual guide for making an approval, and being able to join the group for Rocket Hideout! We hope this guide helps with a smoother transition into our group!
Now let's begin with creating our character! There are many, many ways of going about it, but for this guide we'll settle on making a Deerling/Skiddo hybrid named, Buckley! Say 'hello', Buckley!
Once you've figured out your character now comes the part of putting together your approval! First, we'll do the drawn portion of the approval, and get Buckley on there!
Remember to grab the approval template here!
"Heya there, nice to meet ya! I'm here here tah help ya out!" -Buckley
"Wowie, here I am on this spiffy template!" -Buckley
Here's step one done, and now we have our character on their template! But, as you can see, this is still quite empty, so we'll need to fill this out some more.
"Yeah, I want ya'll to get to know a little about me!" -Buckley
Here's step two of filling out all the necessary information of your character! Now we know Buckley's rank, pronouns, specific species, typing's, and moves!
"Nice tah properly meet ya! Hope we can be friends!" -Buckley"
-Take note that "Skiddo" has been misspelled, and "Happiness" is not a personality trait.
Now comes to our third step of writing out the written portion of your approval! Do take note that the information beside us doesn't 100% meet our guidelines. But, Buckley did fill this out himself...
"Hey! I think I did a great job fillin out my paperwork! 'Specially since I got hooves!" -Buckley
Here is Buckley's Biography! Now, this is nearly perfect one, but it needs a few tweaks.
"What!? This looks perfect tah me!" -Buckley
Well, you don't give any warning to your leg being amputated to prepare the reader! Some people are a bit more sensitive to topics like that.
And, you don't tells us what region you're from! We need to know for clarity's sake, Buckley.
"Oh, oops- I guess ya gotta point there! I'll go fix those up in a bit" -Buckley
-Please note it is very important to list trigger warnings if a sensitive subject is in a bio.
-It is also good to add in potential important details such as where your pokemon orginated from, and ect.
-Take note that every recruit that joins gets a starter pack.
-You also don't need to worry about needing to fill your relationship guide off the bat. It can be empty when you submit it in with your approval.
Lastly is filling out the Ability, Move Set, Equipment, and Relationships sections. Just about everything is in order in here except for the ability, and unnoted move.
There is no mention of how Buckley has obtained the ability "Overgrow" as well as apparently knowing the move "Charm". Those will either need to be changed or explained somewhere in the Biography!
"Oh dang, two more mistakes, huh? I can fix one thems, but how do I check about ability I even got?" -Buckley
Take a visit to the Hideout's labs, and they'll be able to tell you there! You'll likely have an ability from either of your parents!
"Oh, Tech's gotten that fancy, huh? Okay! I'll check in with them before changing that Ability info!" -Buckley
If you're confused on where to find pokemon abilities for your pokemon. One of a few sites we recommended you use Pokemon Database, or Serebii
We have reached the end of making the drawn, and written portions of the approval. Below is our section of how to post both within the Discord!
If you haven't already, please make sure you join the Discord as it is required in order to participate within the group!
Go into the Discord server, scroll down to the "Recruitment Center" category, and go to the #recruit-approvals room.
From there comes the next steps.
Do not chat, or spam in this room as it is there to keep the approvals in order when mods go in to work on them.
When you are within the channel next click on on the upload button as shown.
Make sure to get your drawn approval to prepare to upload along with written approval by linking it within the template provided in the pins.
We'll be using Buckley's approval template as a reference.
Once everything is in order for you to upload the final step is to send it! This is how it should look once uploaded!
When a mod is available they'll look over your approval, and open up a thread. It will will pop up below of your comment whether or not it's good to go, or need to be corrected!
Once it's passed by a mod. They'll tell you what to do from there!
