"Greetings new recruits, and welcome to Rocket-Hideout!"
Before you join, there are a few things you'll need to know so make sure you read the rules before going any further. You may also want to check out the History of the Hideout to familiarize yourself with how things work around here!
If you have any additional questions, head over to mod-contact for one on one help, or the FAQ to see if your question's been asked and answered there! Be sure that you've joined the Discord, so that you're able to participate within events or general activities for the group!
Creating a Character
When joining Rocket-Hideout, your first character can be a a normal pokémon, a type swapped pokémon, or a fusion/hybrid of up to two pokémon! You have lots of options, but there's still a few things to know before you get started:
Make sure you check the Restricted Pokémon List to make sure the pokémon you want is legal to use before moving forward.
Check our Master Name List to see whos around to get acquainted with who's around!
Be sure to check if the traits you want to put on your pokemon are possible! Some things need to be paid for via group currency if you want to use them, so you can't use them on your first approved pokémon! Things like shinies, legendaries, and robotic limbs are all things you'll have to purchase in our Hideout Shop once you get the funds to do so!
Be careful and make sure you check in case your pokemon might have their shiny coloration, or else you might be asked to change them!
Here's some examples of what can be made as your first character!
A Pikachu/Eevee hybrid!
An Ice type Zigzagoon!
A normal Shinx!
A Fairy/Psychic type Starly!
Here's some examples of what you can't do!
A Salamence/Flygon/Magnemite fusion!
Not possible! In order to do this you'll need to purchase a Fusion Chamber from the Hideout Shop to make this character.
A shiny Ponyta!
Not Possible! You'll need to purchase a Shiny Charm from the Hideout Shop to make this character!
The pokemon is a new species I made myself!
Not possible or allowed! All pokemon used in Rocket Hideout must be canon pokémon!
After you've chosen a pokémon, it's time to draw them!
(Click the image below to be taken to the application file!)
You'll use the app linked above to draw your pokémon on and fill out their information accordingly.
New recruits are all gifted with a Starter Pack of accessories to wear if you'd like your character to have anything on!
Some basic accessories are also allowed, so please check our Accessory Boutique for more information on personal items on characters (located at the bottom of the page).
Be sure to add the link of written portion of your approval in a Google Doc, or some other written layout that provides the needed information on your character!
You'll need to fill out all the following information for in the description of your approval. Below is an example of one way to go about this:
Name: [Your character's name]
Pronouns: [Your character's pronouns]
Age: [Your character's age: child, teen, adult, elder.]
Species: [Your character's species of pokemon]
Type: [Your character's typing. A pokemon may only have up to two types unless you've bought a pass to allow a fusion of 3 or more pokemon]
Rank: [Your character's current rank (all new recruits start off at bronze)]
Personality: [Tell us about your character's personality! You must include at least six character traits, both good and bad, to make your character more fleshed out! So about three positive personality traits, and three negative personality traits! You can type in a paragraph format and bold the traits, or simply list and describe your traits instead.]
Biography: [Your character's history! This will vary for every recruit, but here are some things you must include for us to get a sense of your character:
How did your character come to be? Were they born naturally out in the wild, or were they created genetically in a lab?
If your character is a fusion, you must mention what species they are in their bio, OR mention what species their parents were (if they had any)
If your character has any sort of unnatural markings, typings, etc, you must explain how that happened! Was an alternate typing passed down from a parent? Did something happen to them as an egg? Were they genetically altered? Let us know!
Why did you character join Rocket Hideout? They must have a good reason to join a team of thieves after all!
Other things you can include are: What are there goals in life? Do they still have a family? Etc.
Our rule of thumb here is that the more specific you are, the better! We are very lenient on designs and character ideas as long as you can explain how they came to be! Give us details and try to avoid any vague wording, or you may be asked to clarify!]
Ability: [Your character's ability. If your character has an ability they cannot naturally learn you must explain why in their bio.]
Move Set: [List your character's four moves they use in a battle. If your character knows a move that they cannot naturally learn you must explain why in their bio.]
Equipment: [The current accessory packs and equipment your character has. All recruits are given a Starter Pack when they join the Hideout. If your character has other small personal accessories they'd like to bring with them, you'll have to make sure they fit within the personal accessory guidelines outlined in our Accessory Boutique ]
Relationships: [You can use any relationship guide to keep track of your character's feelings towards other members of the hideout.]
Be aware you can format your description any way you like as long as everything listed above is included. You can also add in extra information, such as your characters likes and dislikes, their hobbies, sexuality, fun facts, theme songs and so much more!

Example Approvals
If you're still worried about your application not being ready, feel free to skim our recruit-apps, and higher-up-apps to check out all of the approved recruits already accepted into the group to see what we look for!
You can also click any of the images below to be taken to examples of existing approvals!
If you're still lost, or are essentially more of a visual learner we have a page with a step by step visual guide of how to create your approval here!
Submitting Your Application
Once you're finished, it's time to submit your character's application! If you're a new member looking to join the group, be sure to join the Discord first, and then post the app image and link of your recruits written app to the recruit-approvals channel! The same goes for existing members looking to approve a new character.
The mod team will then review your application and let you know if anything needs to be edited/fixed. Once everything's is looking good, you'll be accepted into the group and free to participate in the group!
You'll also want to check out Assigned Bunkmates to see who your character might be rooming with!
If you have any questions or concerns about joining, you can try to grab our attention in the mod-contact room for more info!
