Frequently Asked Questions
Welcome to Rocket-Hideout's F.A.Q. page! Here is where we'll do our best to catalog member's most pressing and most frequent questions for the group. If you have a question that isn't answered here we recommend checking out our mod-contact channel and commenting over there for a mod to see.
Q: How do I create my second character for the group?
A: Everyone starts off with two free character slots, meaning you can create another character right after you join if you'd like! After you have finished your second character app you just need to submit it to the recruit-approvals channel and a mod will review it for you. After your first two characters you'll need to buy another slot from the Hideout Shop!
Q: Can my pokemon know a move that they wouldn't normally be able to learn?
A: Yes! We aren't strict at all on move sets here, as they have very little impact on RPs and Mission Artwork. Your pokemon can have any canonical move listed in their move set as long as any abnormalities are explained in their bio! That means if your Squirtle knows Flamethrower, we just need to know how that happened!
Q: Can my pokemon have a different typing?
A: Yes! Your pokemon can have any two typings you'd like, no matter their species! Just keep in mind any abnormal typings must be explained in your characters bio so the mods can see how that happened. For example, your character may be a Pikachu/Bulbasaur hybrid with a Fairy typing even though neither Pikachu nor Bulbasaur have that typing, you'll just need to come up with a reason as to why that's the case.
Q: Are variations of a Pokemon allowed? (Ex. Calico, albinism, melanism, etc.)
A: Yes, this would be allowed as long as the abnormal appearance can be explained (i.e. Were they bred to look that way? Did they get it from their parent? Etc.) Also keep in mind that your character cannot have any canon 'shiny' colors without buying a Shiny Charm from the Hideout Shop, so make sure your color variation doesn't stray too close to their shiny variant.
Q: Can I submit AU Artwork of my characters? (Ex. Evolved, Devolved, Evil, Etc.)
A: Yes, any artwork of Rocket-Hideout characters can be submitted to the group and earn you Rocket Coins! Just make sure you mark any non-canon pieces as such in the description to let us know!
Q: Are they any humans in Rocket-Hideout?
A: This particular branch of Team Rocket is run entirely by Pokemon! While humans exist in this world (and exist in TR), trainers will be rarely present at Rocket-Hideout for the sake of our group.
Q: Do I have to include strictly recruits in my artpieces/writing for mission or event pieces when they require a specific character amount?
A: Not always unless the mission or event specifies that the characters have to be owned RH characters. You can insert normal unfused pokemon instead that will count for the specific character amount required out of missions and events.
Q: Does any retired character count for Rocket Coins?
A: No, the retired characters have to be characters in the "Background Retirement" column of the Google Document in order to earn the RC as well as having the member who owns said character/s still be apart of the group.*
*Any other characters who don't fall within these lines earn no RC.
Q: Can I update/change the look, or rank of my Background Retirement Character?
A: No, they're still treated as retired characters, because they are not in your Active Character roaster, so cannot be affected by items like Fusion Chambers, Shiny Charms, and ect. The only way they CAN be is if you pull them out of mechanic retirement to then update them according by buying them these things to change their look before retiring them back to Background Retirement again.*
*They also CANNOT earn any packs either once put into Background Retirement. They only keep the ones they earned in the past.
Q: Can I update the written section of my Background Retired Character?
A: You can, and that can be changes as vast as editing their Bio to changing their movepool!
Q: Can I do collabs for missions prompts I've already done?
A: No, as expressed in mission bulletins you can only do each prompt one time, so that includes collabs as well. Doing one even though you completed a specific mission prompt again will earn you zero RC.
