We went to Wythenshawe Football Club for a business event in Wythenshawe aimed at connecting local businesses and communities. BW3 hosted this event and were very accommodating, providing a stall for us as well as teas and cakes whilst we networked.
We connected with of businesses and charities, including Manchester College and Emmaus UK. We talked about current issues within Wythenshawe and how we can connect and help each other. Social change was at the heart of discussions, with a strong consensus on the need for organisations to support social change via volunteering and a whole host of activities.
Finally, the last hour was filled with interesting talks, including an AI software aimed at increasing computer competency in schools and empowering students. BW3 talked about sponsorship and opportunities for social change. Additionally, we heard Phil Jones (MBE) from Brother give a speech about the importance of social support and value. He provided us with valuable insight, backed up with heart-warming stories about the difference he has made over the years.
Overall, it was a wonderful event with a great opportunity to connect with like-minded people. It strengthened our connections and provided us with new ideas and concepts for change.
