Non-attendance of classes is only acceptable for legitimate reasons and students are expected to inform their lecturer if they will be absent. Being absent from class has a negative impact on individual learning outcomes as well as the learning outcomes of other students. Absence from class will impede the ability of a student to complete the course. Students who are absent from class without a legitimate reason may be referred to Student Support Services for counseling. Any students with a bad attendance record who impact negatively on the work of their group members will be made to submit entire group projects on their own.

Classes are delivered with an expectation that students bring the knowledge from pre-class work with them so that issues and ideas can be presented and discussed at a higher level in class. Students who fail to complete assigned pre-class work may be referred to Student Support Services for counseling.
