LESSON ELIGIBILITY AND ENROLLMENT:
There are a limited number of openings for Applied Lessons (MUSC 301–310). All RMC students are eligible to take Applied Lessons. Contact the following RMC Music professors to inquire about enrolling:

Students who major or minor in Music are given priority to openings in Applied Music (Music – Performance and Literature Emphasis; Music – Choral Pedagogy Emphasis; Music – Instrumental Pedagogy Emphasis; Arts Management – Music Emphasis). Students intending to be, but not yet declared as, one of the four majors listed above must arrange for an advising appointment with Dr. Coffill, Dr. Hunt, or Dr. Doering prior to being granted lesson approval.
Students declared as majoring in the majors listed below:
Music – Performance and Literature Emphasis (BA)
Music – Choral Pedagogy Emphasis (BA)
Music – Instrumental Pedagogy (BA)
Arts Management – Music Emphasis (BA)
Students intending to be, but not yet declared as, one of the three majors listed above. Students intending to declare a music-related major but have not yet done so must arrange for an advising appointment with Dr. Coffill (wind, brass, percussion, strings) or Dr. Hunt (voice, piano, guitar) prior to being granted lesson approval.
Students minoring in Music.
STUDENTS ENROLLED IN APPLIED LESSONS MUST:
Pay a $75 Applied Lesson Fee via their RMC fee bill.
Communicate with their applied studio professors (and accompanist) regarding lesson times, locations, and expectations.
Attend at least 1 of the 2 Introductory Forums and 2 of the 4 Music Performance Forums (see schedule below)
Perform in at least one Music Forum each semester.
MUSC 308 & 309 students may have other requirements here, depending on their level.
Perform in their Studio Recital at the conclusion of each semester.
