About Me:
Hello! My name is Rebecca Jackson. I am a student in SLCC’s occupational therapy assisting program. My special interest areas include geriatric rehabilitation, neurologic disorders, sensory integration, and community engagement and education.
I volunteered for 3 years with Rock Steady Boxing in Cedar City, and it was amazing to see how much movement and community changed the lives of people with Parkinson's disease. I want to help make the same change in others' lives through OT.
I love spending time with my family and outside, and I'm passionate about helping others enjoy time with their families and their hobbies again.
I am set to graduate in Spring 2025, and I have the following goals for graduation:
I will make professional connections through fieldwork, association participation, and community engaged learning.
I will learn how to adapt a client's living space to better accommodate their needs with as little new material as possible (use what you have).
I will develop, finalize, and produce an adaptive device and make it available to the general public.
