ServICE #13
2: Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process
5: Demonstrate the skills and recognise the benefits of working collaboratively
Attending the interschool conference called ServICE was a really interesting experience. We got to participate in various community activities, and one of my favorite parts was visiting the rooftop garden. There, we learned about sustainable gardening and even had a hands-on session making mulberry jam from the garden's produce. It was not only educational but also quite exciting. Plus, meeting new people during the conference added to the overall enjoyment as we shared ideas and learned from each other. The ServICE conference broadened my understanding of community engagement and left me with new connections that continue to inspire me.

After chatting with Mr. Chase in ServICE #13, I got inspired to team up with others and work on a project to reduce cafeteria waste at our school. It was a bit of a challenge, but we stuck with it. Our goal was to make our school more eco-friendly and teach everyone how to do it too. We sorted through the cafeteria trash and turned it into compost, which is great for gardening. We're not stopping there – we're planning to teach younger kids and everyone in our school about the process. Working together made it easier, and it's not just about our school; it's about making a small positive change for the whole world. We're excited to share what we've learned and get more people involved in creating a greener future.
