2: Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process
6: Demonstrate engagement with issues of global significance
Being inside the mascot costume of a shark for the Love Ocean Life club at school was an enjoyable experience with a meaningful purpose. The club's initiative aimed to engage children and educate them about the importance of saving sea animals. Wearing the shark costume allowed me to interact with the kids in a fun and approachable way, making the educational experience more engaging. Through this, we sought to instill a sense of responsibility for the well-being of sea creatures, and aim to teach the younger genreation the value of saving and sustaining the lives of sea animals.
1: Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth
5: Demonstrate the skills and recognise the benefits of working collaboratively
Baking for the Love Ocean Life club in school was a great opportunity for me to learn something new and grow as a person. Although it didn't turn out to be the best cookies. I discovered my strengths in following recipes accurately and paying attention to detail, while also realizing areas where I could improve, like being more creative with recipes and presentation. I took the initiative to plan and organize the baking experience, and I showed commitment by consistently dedicating time and effort to bake for the club. I also learned the benefits of working with others by collaborating and gathering feedback from club members. Overall, baking for the club helped me learn, grow, and appreciate the joy of creating delicious treats for others.
