I’m a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in Vermont who works primarily with children, adolescents, and their families. I have experience supporting clients with anxiety, ADHD and executive functioning challenges, emotional regulation, trauma, grief and loss, parenting concerns, and the many challenges that can come with growing up.
My approach to therapy is grounded in humanistic and person-centered principles. I believe that children and teens do best when they feel genuinely understood, respected, and accepted. Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, I work to understand each client as a whole person—their strengths, challenges, relationships, environment, and individual way of experiencing the world.
I draw from a variety of therapeutic approaches depending on the needs and developmental level of each client. This may include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic concepts, attachment-informed approaches, and developmentally appropriate play- and art-based techniques.
With younger clients especially, therapy doesn't always have to mean sitting across from a therapist and talking about feelings. Play, creativity, drawing, games, and other hands-on activities can provide meaningful ways for children to communicate, explore emotions, practice new skills, and make sense of their experiences. These techniques are incorporated as part of my broader therapeutic approach and are tailored to each child's age, interests, and needs.
My goal is to create a space where kids and teens can feel safe being themselves, better understand what they're experiencing, develop practical skills, and build confidence in their ability to handle life's challenges.
