Armed Basic Drill is a highly disciplined activity that involves cadets performing synchronized movements while holding rifles. Movements include marching, facing, turning, and executing rifle movements like salutes, rifle spins, and rifle carries. Armed drill competitions showcase cadets' ability to work as a team, performing complex routines with accuracy and uniformity. This training develops leadership, focus, teamwork, and discipline, while also building cadets' confidence in handling weapons safely and effectively. Armed Basic Drill emphasizes attention to detail and military bearing, reinforcing the values of respect, responsibility, and pride in NJROTC.
