Work package 1

Analysis on the effectiveness of existing mobile apps technology for mitigating COVID-19 in developing countries.

We will perform a comprehensive study of current mobile apps that were designed to mitigate the COVID-19 pandemic in developing countries. First, we will examine the relations between published scientific literature and available commercial smartphone health apps for contact tracing to identify the percentage of scientifically supported apps that were commercially available and to determine how many of the top commercially available apps for mitigating COVID-19 were supported by the published scientific literature.

In the second part of the study, we will focus on evaluating the implementation of mobile apps technology for COVID-19 screening developed by Badan Penyelenggara Jaminan Sosial (BPJS) Kesehatan, namely the Skrining Mandiri COVID-19. This analysis is important to get a deeper understanding of some key effectiveness factors of existing mobile apps technology for COVID-19 screening and mitigation. The data will be very useful in the design and implementation of our novel SMARTHealth COVID-19 apps.
