The Standley family moved from place to place in Illinois, Nebraska Territory, and Iowa Territory before they moved to the Salt Lake Valley in 1852. They joined the Thomas C.D. Howell Company on June 7, 1852 and arrived in the Salt Lake Valley on Sep 2. Soon after their arrival, the Standley family moved to Bountiful, Utah.
Philinda married Wallace Kendall Burnham Nov 30, 1856 in Bountiful, Utah. They moved to Richmond in 1860, where her sister, Cyrene Standley, was living. Later, Lydia was introduced to Wallace, and they were married, causing her to move to Richmond with her sisters.
