Leto with Artemis and Apollo (Source)
Author’s note:
Most of this story is false, as you might already know. If you’re not familiar with Greek mythology the only things that are true would be that Hera did kidnap the goddess of childbirth, Leto did give birth to twins and one of them defeated the dragon Hera sent. If you are familiar with Greek mythology, I hope you noticed that it was one week and three days later that Zeus and Hera received the news about Leto and her children. In the original story, Artemis and Apollo were born nine days apart and Apollo defeated the dragon, Python. Zeus and Hera were told by Hermes about it the very next day, in my story. I wanted to leave each episode with a cliffhanger so that it gave the reader the feeling that it was actually a TV series and not so much a book series, where they usually have closure and present a new problem in the next series (ex. Harry Potter). I’ve also been researching famous quotes from literature to get my episode titles. I chose “frankly, my dear, I don’t give a damn” because it represents Hera’s attitude throughout the whole episode, while everyone else is going mad. I love that at the end, though, she’s forced into jeopardy when Hermes delivers the news to them. I hope you enjoyed reading this as much as I’ve enjoyed writing it.
