Watch out, Beverly Hills, new housewives are moving in! Before, you thought the ladies over in New York City were bad, then Atlanta took over. New Jersey came in like a storm and you probably thought the drama couldn't go further downhill. Well, you're wrong because The Real Housewives of Greek Mythology did not come to play. But before you sneak into the lives of our most powerful gods and goddesses let's meet the cast:
Hera - She's married to Zeus, who is the King of the Gods, which makes her the Queen of the Gods. Sure, they look like they have everything, but rumor has it Zeus is a serial cheater and Hera just about fed up with it. Why did they get married you ask? Word on the street is that Zeus tricked her by dressing up as a cuckoo bird. I don't know what's weirder: the fact that it was a cuckoo bird or the fact that it worked.
Persephone - Persephone's story is sort of something out of a weird indie film that gets banned from 90% of the world's countries. So she's married to Hades, who is the King of the Underworld, making her the Queen of the Underworld. She's also Zeus' daughter whose brother also happens to be Hades. What? I know. Did I mention she's also NOT Hera's daughter? Her mom is actually Zeus's sister... We'll get to that later. Not only is she married to her uncle, her father knew she wasn't gonna be down for it so they tricked her with a pomegranate. Trickery must run in the family.
Amphitrite- Queen of the Sea, married to none other than the King of the Sea, Poseidon, brother to Zeus and Hades. She was also resistant to his advances like the other women were to their men, except she was actually persuaded into marrying Poseidon, not tricked, which is kind of cute, I guess. However, he's not much better than his brothers so you can only imagine what she's going to have to put up with this season.
Athena - Probably the most ruthless of them all. She's not a housewife, but she sure makes for some drama. She's known for her independence, short temper, and quick wit, which makes sense since she's the goddess of war and wisdom. Rumor has it she owns a ton of property and Amphitrite's husband forced himself on a Gorgon named Medusa in one of them. Athena found out and felt so disrespected she turned Medusa's hair into snakes and now anyone that looks at her will turn to stone. Did I mention she was ruthless?
