Sweden is one of the world's leaders in engineering in multiple fields. Such companies as SAAB and Husqvarna dominate several discrete markets, and a large part of the Swedish economy is built on export of industrial items. Thus, Swedish is one of the better languages for an engineer to know. While I cannot claim to begin to approach fluency, I do know some Swedish, and am striving to increase my knowledge whenever possible.
