Nay Chi Khine (Katie) was an international student from Myanmar studying CHC50113 Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) at RGIT Australia’s Melbourne Campus. She had a background in supply chain management and she had lived and worked in Singapore in the past. Katie soon discovered her passion and love for kids and decided to pursue her career in Australia.
When Katie was asked about her passion while studying at RGIT, she said, “I love kids and that’s why I decided to follow my passion and enrol in the Diploma of ECEC at RGIT, and I am really enjoying it.” She also said that the trainers at RGIT were very good as most of them had a background in childcare and that made it easier for her to understand how the course would work. Katie found her dream job in the field of childcare as a Childcare Educator at Inspire Early Learning Journey after only one week of placement. She said that she has started putting into practise the theories learnt in class and in RGIT’S Childcare Simulation Background at her workplace. Katie loves her current childcare job and sees herself working long term on that path. As every new joiner at any job, her job was also filled with challenges. She said, “It was a bit challenging at the start because I had never dealt with kids before. I had a lot of doubt, what if the kids start crying, how do I talk to them? But slowly, I have built a relationship with the kids by being patient with them.”
