Starting my 7th-grade year I received a present for my 12th birthday, that present was an electric guitar. From that moment on guitar had become a part of my life. While I played on and off throughout high school, coming to college I returned back to it and it has become one my favorite pass times. Playing the guitar has presented me with the opportunity to perform in front of people and share my passion with others.
Guitar has taught me the importance of persistence and learning to enjoy each moment.
Practicing the same song for hours on end, or just trying to get a solo down for 30 seconds, I learned that persistence is key not only in music but in life. Remembering to keep trying as I traverse my way through the trials and tribulations of nursing school, that every mistake and triumph are opportunities to learn as I go through my own journey
Although I have only performed a few times, the guitar has shown me to groove with the beat, to feel the strings on my fingers, and rock with the audience to truly enjoy the moments I'm up on stage just as I should enjoy the moments I share with friends, family and loved ones.
