What is Kapamilya?
Kapamilya which stands for "family" in tagalog is Dominican’s student-run Filipinx-American Student Association Kapamilya has been a key part of my Dominican experience being able to bond with so many other Filipino American students who come from all different backgrounds. From the first meeting, I felt welcomed and I couldn't be happier to be a part of the Kapamilya family.
General Representative of Kapamilya 2022-2023
I am currently apart of their Elective Board as a General Representative and I plan on running for either treasurer or Activities chair for the 2023-2024 school year. My job as a General representative has been to assist the E-board with anything they need help with. My most important job this year was helping with the pairings in our big-little program or our "Ading-Kuya-Ate" program. I've helped run general meetings for students and assisted with our posts for our Instagram page. Below is my headshot for this year and some of the posts of I've made!

Friendship Games
Friendship games is an annual competition between Filipino-American Organizations from colleges across California and some from out of state. The competition consists of field games, modern dances, SPUF-ing or sportsman-like cheers with other organizations, and other games to compete for points and trophies.
Next year I will be participating in FG as an Assistant Coach for practices as we prep a new team of students for FG 2023 to hopefully bring a trophy home to Dominican!
Pilipino Culture Night
Filipino Culture Night is an annual show Kapamilya puts on to celebrate our Filipino heritage! The entire performance includes an original play written by students that alternates each year from a historical piece to a modern piece, Filipino cultural dances such as Tinikling, Binsuaan, and Warrior dance, original choreographed modern dancing, and singing!
For PCN 2022, I was apart of two departments including Stage Crew that helps the show run behind the scenes and the Singing department.
This year for PCN 2023 I am in Stage Crew as a shadow, Singing, Modern Dance, and Cultural Dance specifically Tinikling!
