2025 Garden Shares is recommended for brand-new gardeners to learn if gardening in a community is right for you.
Nome Park Community Garden reserved three plots for the Volunteer CSA program. CSA is an acronym that stands for Community Supported Agriculture. Nome's Garden Share is a CSA program where a team works together and learns best practices for gardening in Colorado while experiencing gardening in a community setting. Recommended for brand-new gardeners. Participation is limited to 6 people for 2025.
Garden Share will meet weekly to learn what comes next in the garden season, regenerative and sustainable organic garden practices, how and when to harvest, etc. Each volunteer is required to register with DUG as a DUG member. There is no plot fee-- participants are asked to pay the DUG membership fee and fill out the Denver Urban Gardens waiver.
The Nome Park Community Garden Volunteer CSA garden share is open for registration. All participants will be asked for feedback at the end of the growing season. CSA volunteer hours will be tracked with a sign-in sheet. Each volunteer will be given a share of the produce as it is harvested, equal to the time spent caring for the CSA Garden Share plots.
This is a great way to learn and practice gardening skills with others and receive garden mentorship. You will receive a portion of organic vegetables come harvest time without the time commitment of managing a personal plot (i.e. planting, watering, & weeding, harvesting 3-4 times per week for the growing season April - October. This often averages 4 - 6 hours per week for members in personal plots.)
