RESEARCH PROJECT OVERVIEW

The researchers tried to determine when compressed to a single layer, how temperature affected C60.  They used the Palmetto Supercomputing Facility(Clemson University) to use several systems including MobaXterm, OVITO and Thonny (Python).  They found that the lower temperatures were more successful for compression at AIREBO potential. In addition, they fund that the attractive & repulsive pair interactions are modified to fit bond properties, including long-range atomic interactions and single bond torsional interactions.  The stability maintained at room temperature and below. Bonds remained intact even at one layer.
