The standards locate this training into Professional Community Development; you can see from the standards that resident engagement is one part of the journey.

When we discuss resident engagement we often consider the adults in communities. This is can be the continual bias that excludes young people from their communities. Children and young people can often be seen solely as dependants on their adults and defined by them. However we know from research that resident engagement is just as important with them as it is with us.
