I generally prefer solo console gaming without need to play online, and though I do sometimes play online through games downloaded via Steam, I have (only a few times) live-streamed my games via Twitch in the past. I generally prefer to watch through Twitch or YouTube since I am more used to those services and I find the interface more agreeable, and because the few streamers I do enjoy watching as well as my friends and family who do stream are more active on those platforms.
I do enjoy watching streams and YouTube gameplays by certain streamers, such as MoistCr1TiKaL, CJUGames, and more. I have not interacted with the community of these streamers in any way, but I do enjoy their genre of content and almost exclusively watch their videos or streams while performing another task such as homework, getting ready for work, cleaning and doing chores, and more. The majority of the content includes comedy, music, tier-listing, indie horror gaming, game and media reviews, and more. For the most part, I enjoy putting these videos on as a way to casually learn more about the gaming community as a whole through gamers with similar tastes as myself. Additionally, through watching gameplay videos of indie horror and other similar games, I am able to casually watch a wide variety of horror games with the benefits of experiencing the game's story while multi-tasking, doing so for free, viewing games prior to their release date through demos only that streamer has access to, and being recommended games that I've never heard of before. As for tuning into the streams of my friends and family, I'll often do so to support their channel while doing other tasks.
I have streamed games in the past, but have not done so in a long time due to being busy with school and work. I may start streaming again in the future when I have more time to dedicate to gaming for fun and able to maintain a consistent schedule. I would love to start again on Twitch, most likely in games of the horror, FPS, RPG, and other similar genres. I would be more inclined to play online with my friends before I join an MMO community again.
