Dr. Madelynn Stackhouse, Associate Professor of Management and Margaret Van Hoy Hill Dean’s Notable Scholar, specializes in leadership, personality, workplace relationships, and ethics. With 25+ top-tier journal publications, she’s received multiple research awards at national and international conferences, including a Bryan junior researcher award. Dr. Stackhouse teaches cross-cultural management, organizational psychology, workplace flourishing, and organizational behavior across academic levels, earning numerous teaching award nominations. Her 20+ years of corporate experience, most recently as a consultant, focuses on helping organizations thrive through effective strategy, positive work culture, and leadership training. Her work bridges academic research and practical application in organizational settings.
Sam Stalion is a PhD student at UNC at Greensboro. She is also an adjunct instructor at Indiana University, where she teaches undergraduate courses in Leadership at the Media School and Kelley School of Business. Her research interests include examining how covert destructive (leader) behaviors, like gaslighting, shape employee experiences and organizational outcomes. She’s particularly interested in how these dynamics unfold through individual differences to influence targets’ perceptions of, responses to, and recovery from such behaviors. In Sam’s free time, she likes to go on nature walks or kayak on the lake with her husband, three daughters, and their dog, Ravenpaw.
Emily is a PhD student at UNC Greensboro. She is also a faculty member at UNT Health in the Department of Health Administration and Health Policy, where she teaches courses in the Master of Health Administration (MHA) program, including Introduction to Health Management & Policy, Leading People, Managing Across the Continuum of Care, Health Economics, and Professional and Academic Development.
Emily began her career in progressive roles within the long-term care and skilled nursing industry, eventually serving as a Healthcare Administrator for a large skilled nursing facility. She later transitioned to the role of Practice Administrator for a mid-sized physician organization.
Her research interests include workplace psychological trauma, workplace violence, and employee well-being. She has a particular interest in improving working conditions for direct care staff in long-term care and other healthcare settings.
In her free time, Emily enjoys spending time with her husband, three children, and their standard poodle.
Emily is a PhD student at UNC at Greensboro. She is also a lecturer in the Department of Management at Middle Tennessee State University, where she teaches courses in Ethical Leadership, Human Resource Management, Managerial Decision-Making, Building and Leading High-Impact Teams, Leadership Skills and Development, and Principles of Management. Her research interests include international human resource management, global mobility, identity work, cross-cultural training, and global virtual teams. Jessica is a PhD student at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She also teaches leadership, human resources, and organizational development courses in northwestern Wisconsin. Her research focuses on how organizational storytelling and sensemaking shape individuals’ understanding of leadership, trust, and resilience, and how these narratives influence decision-making and team effectiveness. In her free time, Jessica enjoys spending time with her friends and family, watching movies, reading books, traveling, hiking, and flying planes.
John is a PhD student in Organizational Behavior and Strategy at UNC Greensboro and currently teaches management and marketing courses in the Tom and Vi Zapara School of Business at La Sierra University. He was the 2016 recipient of the United States Jack Kahl Entrepreneurial Leader Award, and in 2019 was inducted into the Sam Walton Free Enterprise Fellows Hall of Fame. His research interests include employee proactive and norm-breaking behaviors and communication, including constructive deviance and voice, and he enjoys helping his students to identify, develop, and act on their potential. Tadjhie Terry is an MBA student at UNC Greensboro concentrating in Marketing. She has a background in Sociology and the social sciences, where she has worked with nonprofit organizations focused on community engagement and activism. She has conducted statistical studies on various sociological topics and plans to continue exploring the intersection between social science and business. Her interests include ensuring that businesses embrace diversity and inclusivity in their marketing strategies and incorporating her sociology knowledge into the marketing field.
