REFORMA del Valle Central was founded in 2016 by Sandra Rios Balderrama and Shannon Morrison as REFORMA de Fresno. In November of 2017, our membership voted to change the name to REFORMA del Valle Central. We embraced our core values with the tagline "Libros y Comunidad". We are one of over 20 chapters of REFORMA: National Association to Promote Library & Info Services to Latinos & the Spanish Speaking Community.
Our logo was created by Tony Carranza and introduced at our June 2019 meeting. As past President Sandra Rios Balderrama stated, the logo represents "transformation and metamorphosis. Books and literacy are able to transform ways of thinking and help us grow in every way. Butterflies travel long distances, always returning home as we do, whether moving or staying - we find ourselves carrying "home" in our hearts."
