Please comply with Corona Safety Rules. Do not crowd testing rooms. Each student at own table. Provide sterilizing wipes for computers
Earmark one of the previous exams as being the one NOT to be practiced on
Do NOT download that exam for practice leading up to your exam date
On the day you choose to do your Matkonet, download the earmarked exam and make it accessible
You can have your students take that as a Matkonet that on any day you like ASIDE from a day when other iTests are being run (see footer).
Have the students do it in shifts in the computer room as they will on Bagrut Day. 30 minutes for each shift.
The tech person at school can save all of your students' audio files on a disc-on-key, which you can listen to and assess, using the rubric either at school or at home.
You can either break up all of the files into groups of 30 and mark each other's or pick out your own students. You can even send the files to your students to have them listen to themselves and improve their answers.
If it is not possible to reserve the computer room for the matkonet, In may be done face to face, in the old method, instead. However, we encourage you to work together with your school to make sure you have the computer rooms reserved for all the dates you need.
Use the excel sheets provided on the English Inspectorate site to help you grade the matkonet.
Updated Sept 2019
Rubrics and TOS are available on the English Inspectorate site.
REMEMBER: the practice exams available on that site are not identical to what your students will see this year. Now that the pilot is over, final changes were made based, in part, on your valuable feedback.
This tutorial wasn't made specifically for this spreadsheet, but the process YOU need to do to make your own copy of the spreadsheet for grading, is exactly the same. I hope it helps! If not, write me! araemer@gmail.com
