REECAP Worging Group 2 will attempt to create bridges across our two communities.

ENRD serves as a hub for exchange of information on how Rural Development policy, programmes, projects and other initiatives are working in practice and how they can be improved to achieve more. Some REECAP members are practitioners, in charge of RDP evaluation, and are engaged in ENRD.

We believe their publications is of interest for researchers as well. REECAP WG2 will attempt to create bridges across our two communities.

For example, they have organized last May a “Good Practice Workshop” on DATA MANAGEMENT FOR THE ASSESSMENT OF RDP EFFECTS

Experimental approaches were mentioned twice during the workshops!

Summary report available here: https://enrd.ec.europa.eu/evaluation/publications/data-management-assessment-rdp-effects_en

In particular, Ms Andrea Pufahl (evaluator, Thuenen Institute of Rural Studies, Germany) who has now joined REECAP network, presented the experiences of Germany for the evaluation of the socio-economic effects of RDPs. She stressed the challenges in relation to the lack of data for non-beneficiaries or context data on NUTS-3 or lower level. She concluded saying that experimental approaches may contribute to the evaluation of RD measures.

In the final report, you can read “Marianne Lefebvre, representative of the Research network on economic experiments for the CAP (REECAP) stressed they are researching on the feasibility of experimental approaches for CAP evaluation. Interested evaluators and administration representatives are invited to contact them.”
