Many of the horses you'll meet here were born and raised on our ranch, allowing us to know them from their very first steps. Kami

POA Few Spot Buckskin Mare

Kami is one of the most dependable and versatile horses in our lesson program. With her quiet disposition, willing attitude, and forgiving nature, she has become a favorite among riders of all ages and experience levels.

Whether introducing beginners to the fundamentals of riding or helping more experienced riders refine their skills, Kami's patience and steady temperament give riders the confidence they need to succeed. She excels in both Western and English disciplines, making her an exceptional partner for developing balance, correct position, soft hands, and effective leg cues.

HeartBreak Kiss "Moochie"

POA Mare

Moochie is the heart of our lesson program and one of the most beloved horses on the ranch. With her kind eye, gentle personality, and patient nature, she has introduced countless children and first-time riders to the wonderful world of horses.

As one of our larger Pony of the Americas mares, Moochie is perfectly suited for Tiny Tots, youth riders, and beginner students. Her quiet, forgiving temperament allows new riders to build confidence while learning the fundamentals of safe horsemanship. She takes great care of her riders and has an incredible ability to make children feel comfortable and successful from their very first ride.

Moochie excels at teaching the foundations of riding, including balance, steering, proper position, soft hands, leg cues, and confidence as riders progress through each stage of their equestrian journey. She is patient, trustworthy, and always willing to help her riders learn at their own pace.

Beyond the arena, Moochie loves attention and thrives on building relationships with people. Whether she's being groomed, loved on, or patiently standing while young riders learn to tack up, she is happiest when she's surrounded by smiling faces.

MVP Lookin To Be Scoot'N "Tinker"

Tinker is a home-raised Pony of the Americas mare who embodies the versatility, athleticism, and exceptional disposition that our breeding program is known for. Bred, raised, and trained here at Mountain View POA's, Tinker has been carefully developed from the very beginning, giving her a strong foundation and a willing, trustworthy attitude.

With her quiet mind and eager-to-please personality, Tinker has become an outstanding lesson horse for riders ready to advance their skills. She confidently carries riders through both Western and English disciplines, helping students develop balance, proper position, effective leg cues, soft hands, and independent riding skills.

Tinker is responsive without being intimidating, making her an excellent partner for riders transitioning from beginner to intermediate levels. She enjoys learning new tasks and thrives when given a job, whether she's working in the arena, navigating trail obstacles, or heading out on the trail.

Ace of Spades "Ace"

Ace of Spades is a talented and versatile gelding with a personality as big as his heart. Standing at 14.2 hands, Ace is a solid, big-bodied horse with an exceptional work ethic, willing attitude, and the kind of disposition that makes him a favorite among riders looking to advance their skills.

Ace has a strong foundation in both Western and English riding and is especially suited for riders progressing into more advanced horsemanship. He is proficient in Western Pleasure, Horsemanship, Trail, Equitation, English Pleasure, and lower-level Dressage, giving students the opportunity to develop a well-rounded skill set across multiple disciplines.

With his smooth movement, responsive nature, and athletic ability, Ace helps riders refine soft hands, effective leg cues, balance, collection, and overall communication with their horse. He is patient enough to teach while offering the responsiveness needed to help riders continue progressing.

"Frodo"

Frodo may be small in stature, but he is truly a small but mighty stallion with an impressive show record and an even greater legacy as a sire. Standing at just 48½ inches, he consistently proved that size has nothing to do with quality, presence, or athletic ability.

Throughout his successful show career, Frodo dominated the halter ring, earning some of the Pony of the Americas Club's highest honors. His accomplishments include East World Champion Small Stallion, East World Reserve Grand Champion Stallion, National Congress Champion Small Stallion, and multiple Grand Champion titles at all-breed competitions. His exceptional conformation, eye-catching leopard color, and undeniable presence made him a standout wherever he competed.

Today, Frodo serves as one of the cornerstone stallions of the Mountain View POA's breeding program. He has sired more than 20 exceptional foals, consistently stamping them with beautiful heads, balanced conformation, athletic movement, outstanding minds, and the versatility to excel in virtually any discipline. His offspring have proven themselves to be intelligent, willing, and easy to train, making them wonderful prospects for performance, ranch work, trail riding, and family companions.

One of Frodo's greatest strengths is his ability to cross exceptionally well on larger mares. Despite his smaller size, he consistently produces medium, large, and oversized Pony of the Americas, allowing breeders to add color, refinement, athleticism, and exceptional minds without sacrificing size. His homozygous PATN1/PATN1 genetics make him an outstanding choice for producing loudly colored offspring.

Many of the horses in our own lesson and breeding programs are proudly sired by Frodo. We have raised them from birth, started them under saddle, and watched them develop into trusted riding partners, proving the consistency and quality he passes to each generation.

Our Future Lesson Horses & Young Prospects

At Mountain View POA's, our lesson program is continually growing thanks to the quality horses we proudly breed, raise, and train ourselves. Many of our future lesson horses are born right here on the ranch and are carefully handled from the day they arrive. Through consistent groundwork, positive experiences, and patient training, we develop confident, willing partners that are prepared for successful careers both in and out of the arena.

One of the greatest advantages of raising our own horses is that we know them inside and out. From their personalities and temperaments to their strengths and abilities, we've been with them every step of the way. This allows us to thoughtfully match each horse with the role that best suits their individual talents, ensuring they are physically and mentally ready before joining our lesson program.

Pumpkin

One of our most anticipated future lesson horses is Pumpkin, a beautiful 13.0 HH few-spot POA filly who is expected to begin helping with lessons next year. Pumpkin is truly one of a kind. Affectionately known around the ranch as our "little unicorn," she absolutely adores children and has one of the sweetest, most loving personalities we've ever produced. Her quiet nature, willingness to learn, and gentle disposition make her an exciting prospect for introducing young riders to the world of horses.

Stinky

Another exciting addition to our program is Stinky, a medium-to-larger Pony of the Americas mare who is currently raising a foal. Once her foal is weaned, we plan to begin incorporating her into our lesson program in September 2026.

Unlike many of our lesson horses, Stinky specializes in gaming events and will be best suited for riders with previous riding experience who are looking to expand their skills. She offers an exciting opportunity for students interested in barrel racing, pole bending, keyhole, and other timed gaming events, helping riders improve speed, precision, balance, and horsemanship in a safe, controlled environment.
