Manchester City beats Arsenal with ease to maintain their spot in the top two of the Premier League.
Raheem Sterling scores the first goal after the Premier League lockdown as the ball terribly bounces off of Arsenal defender David Luiz right into Sterling, who scores (45+2 minute, 1-0 Manchester City).
In the 49th minute of the game, David Luiz shoves Manchester City player Riyad Mahrez onto the ground to give Man City a penalty kick. Luiz is also given a red card and is thrown out of the game. Fun fact: David Luiz has conceded the most penalty kicks in the Premier League this season with 4. Anyway, Kevin De Bruyne scores on the penalty (2-0 Manchester City).
In the 90+2 minute, Phil Foden scores on a wide open net as Sergio Aguero assists him with a shot that hit the post (3-0 Manchester City).
This win by the defending Premier League champions (Manchester City) gives them a comfortable spot at second place in the Premier League.
With the upcoming return of the Premier League (June 17th), how will the teams be affected.
Liverpool will most likely rightfully win the trophy. This is good for the team because originally with the Premier League being shut down, there were debates if Liverpool would get the trophy. This was because they still needed one more win to earn it. But now they will almost definitely win it, so congrats!
This also gives many more teams a chance to make it into the Champions League or Europa League because the top half of the table is very tight.
Also many of the teams at the bottom will get a better shot to escape relegation.
And with all the teams still having nine or ten games left to go, there is a high possibility for much change throughout the table.
So overall, with a good amount of games to go, we are bound to see an exciting end to the season, so sit back, relax, and enjoy the Premier League's return!
In the first ePremier League tournament, Wolves Diogo Jota beat Liverpools Trent Alexander-Arnold in a very close game that ended because of a golden goal scored by Jota. With the second tournament about to start each team has brought a new player to compete.
The first four games will be played on May 5th and we will all hope to watch very exciting games by the players competing. A couple examples of players competing are James Maddison of Leicester City, and Callum Wilson of Bournemouth.
The tournament is a great way for the players and fans to feel closer to the game and interact with other players from around the league. The tournament was a great idea and is also very fun to watch. We hope to see a very exciting tournament coming up.
Former Tottenham midfielder Christian Eriksen was recently transferred to Inter Milan. The contract will last up until 2024 which could give Inter a lot of time to overtake Juventus, the current league champs. Inter is looking better than ever and are hoping to overtake Juventus and win the league for the first time in nine years.
Eriksen is just what Inter needs, with his creative passing and strong shots from distance. In his time in the Premier league Eriksen had 51 goals and 62 assists.
How could this help Inter Milan? Well, they now have one of the most creative players in the world, who, in his time with Tottenham consistently had around 8 goals and 10 assists. He was also a very well rounded player who you can rely on to get the job done or make the right play.
This transfer will benefit Inter in many ways. For example, they might finally be able to take down Juventus and win the league for the first time in a while. Inter Milan fans should be very excited for many great seasons in the future.
Liverpool's impressive undefeated run is ended by a 3-0 loss to Watford. With relegation on their mind, Watford accomplished what no team could do this season and beat the undefeated Liverpool. Liverpool, with an 18 game winning streak, were one game away from the record, but Watford stopped them short. With the game tied 0-0 at halftime, both teams figure out what they were doing wrong in order to win.
Towards the beginning of the second half Watford opened up the scoring with two goals from Sarr. They later scored once again, with a spectacular shot from Deeney. Despite the score, Liverpool dominated possession with 69% to Watfords 31%. The also had 5 corners to Watfords 3.
Overall Watford was the better side and played the better game. They came on to the field looking very strong and new they had to win not only to beat the undefeated Liverpool, but to escape relegation zone.
On a side note, this is good for Arsenal fans who can still brag about being undefeated in 2003/04.
