Many stars are drafted in the first round of the NBA Draft. Read this article to see my rankings on the best player drafted at each pick slot of the first round of the draft in the last five years!
Pick #1: Zion Williamson (2019) - Even though we haven't seen much of Zion in the NBA, he will most likely end up being one of the greatest players to ever step on the court.
Pick #2: Ja Morant (2019) - This was a tough choice between D'Angelo Russel or Ja Morant, but I had to go with Morant because he is a more well-rounded player.
Pick #3: Luka Doncic (2018) - Doncic has only been in the league for a couple of years but he is already a big MVP candidate so I chose him.
Pick #4: Kristaps Porzingis (2015) - Porzingis was the obvious choice for me here as he is one of the best big men in the league right now.
Pick #5: Trae Young (2018) - Young is one of the best - if not the best - guards in the league and will definitely be in the race for the MVP in many years to come.
Pick #6: Buddy Hield (2016) - Hield is one of the best three-point shooters in the league so I think it is smart to pick him for this one.
Pick #7: Jamal Murray (2016) - Murray is a key piece of the Nuggets which is why I picked him.
Pick #8: Collin Sexton (2018) - Sexton is a talented guard and is one of the best players in the Cavaliers organization right now.
Pick #9: Rui Hachimura (2019) - Even though Hachimura is just a rookie, I believe that he will be a star in the years to come.
Pick #10: Cam Reddish (2019) - Reddish is key player of the hawks organization which is why I believe he should be in this spot.
Pick #11: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (2018) - Shai is the Thunder's star player alongside Chris Paul. He is averaging insane numbers this season.
Pick #12: Luke Kennard (2017) - You can count on Kennard to put up numbers for the Pistons so he is definitely the right choice here.
Pick #13: Devin Booker (2015) - This was a hard choice between Booker and Donovan Mitchell, but I think Devin Booker takes this spot because his stats are better than Mitchell's. But when it comes to team success, Mitchell beats Booker in that. But I still think Booker is a little better.
Pick #14: Bam Adebayo (2017) - Adebayo is one of the best big men in the league and still has many years ahead of him. He is definitely improving each and everyday so he easily takes this spot.
Pick #15: Kelly Oubre (2015) - Oubre is one of the Suns' key players so he is the right choice for this spot.
Pick #16: Terry Rozier (2015) - Rozier was a great player on the Celtics, and is even better on the Hornets so I choose him for this spot.
Pick #17: Donte DiVincenzo (2018) - DiVincenzo played amzing basketball in college and in the NBA, is doing good, too!
Pick #18: Sam Dekker (2015) - Although he doesn't play in the NBA anymore, Dekker was a decent player averaging 5.5 points per game in his NBA career.
Pick #19: John Collins (2017) - Collins was a very, very easy decision for this spot as he is a talented big man and is one of the best players on the Hawks.
Pick #20: Caris LeVert (2016) - LeVert is an amazing scorer and you can count on him to put up some points every game.
Pick #21: Brandon Clarke (2019) - Clarke is a valuable player to have in the Grizzlies organization, and he can put up a good amount of points and rebounds every night!
Pick #22: Jarrett Allen (2017) - Allen is a skillful big man and is a key player for the nets to have so he is the right choice here.
Pick #23: Rondae Hollis-Jefferson (2015) - Hollis-Jefferson has the potential to be a great player and he already plays amazing basketball right now!
Pick #24: Anfernee Simons (2018) - Although Simons isn't a star, he still puts up a consistent amount of points per game so he deserves this spot.
Pick #25: Mortiz Wagner (2018) - Wagner is a pretty good big man to have, and he is playing well in the NBA.
Pick #26: Landry Shamet (2018) - Shamet - to put it short - is a good and valuable player and is doing great in L.A. for the Clippers.
Pick #27: Pascal Siakam (2016) - Siakam is a 1-time NBA Champion, 1-time Most Improved Player, and a very, very, very talented player for the Raptors!
Pick #28: Jordan Poole (2019) - The Warriors were very smart in drafting Poole, as he adds very crucial young talent to an already-competent Warriors team.
Pick #29: Derrick White (2017) - This was a pretty tough choice between Dejounte Murray and Derrick White, but I think I made the right choice with White because he is an offensive beast!
Pick #30: Josh Hart (2017) - Even though Hart doesn't score as much as the other people that could've had this spot, I think he should be here because he is good at many things within the game of basketball.

The NBA consists of many remarkable duos, but unfortunately, not all of them can win a title.
Number 10 - Allen Iverson and Carmelo Anthony - Iverson and Anthony were great players individually, but they never had superstar chemistry which is what made them never win ring. So if they developed better chemistry, the two would be practically unstoppable.
Number 9 - Tracy McGrady and Yao Ming - Tracy McGrady and Yao Ming were two of the greatest players in the NBA at the time and overall. They never had much playoff success as they failed to make it past the first round together which is why they are #9 on this list.
Number 8 - Chris Paul and Blake Griffin - The Clippers of the 2010's featured a very thrilling duo of Chris Paul and Blake Griffin. These two led the team to some success but in the postseason they failed to do anything important. They should have won a ring or at close to winning one.
Number 7 - Gary Payton and Shawn Kemp - Gary Payton and Shawn Kemp were a very talented duo together that - if not for Michael Jordan's Bulls - would've definitely won a ring together. They were so dominant that they pushed the Bulls to 6 games in the 1996 NBA Finals.
Number 6 - Chris Webber and Peja Stojakovic - The 2002 Sacramento Kings were a very strong team and one of the best to never win a ring. If it wasn't for faulty refereeing in Game 7 of the Conference Championship vs. the Lakers, they would've made it to the finals and would have a strong chance to win it all.
Number 5 - Steve Nash and Amare Stoudemire - Steve Nash was a two-time MVP and Amare Stoudemire consistently made the All-Star team every year so it is surprising that the two didn't win a single ring. Both of these players were very talented so this is why they claim the #5 spot on this list.
Number 4 - Jerry West and Elgin Baylor - The duo of Jerry West and Elgin Baylor was a dominant force and the two fell just short of winning a ring together. Baylor retired 9 games into the 1971-72 season because of injuries and that same year, Jerry West won his first ring.
Number 3 - Shaquille O'Neal and Penny Hardaway - Shaq and Hardaway are one of the biggest what-ifs i NBA history. What if Shaq didn't leave the Magic and for the Lakers? They definitely would've won at least 1 ring if the two didn't split up, so that is why they are #3 on this list.
Number 2 - Kevin Durant and Russel Westbrook - If KD never left Russ for the Warriors, how many championships could these two get. They had chemistry that is rare in the NBA. They were like brothers and definitely should've won a ring in their time together.
Number 1 - John Stockton and Karl Malone - John Stockton and Karl Malone were definitely the best duo to never win a championship together by far. Stockton was the clear top passing point guard in the league and also put up consistent points on a daily basis. And Malone, don't even get me started on Karl Malone. Over his career, he was a 2x MVP, 14x All-Star, 14x All-NBA, and 4x All-Defensive team. This duo definitely should've won - at the very least - one ring
The NBA is filled with amazing players and fun nicknames. However, 5 of the nicknames stand out.
Number 5 - The Greek Freak- Giannis Antetokounmpo
Giannis Antetokounmpo is one of the leading scorers in the league and has won 1 MVP with many more to come. He got the Greek Freak because he's a freak on both sides of the ball and he is from a Greek heritage. When you put it together, he is the unstoppable Greek Freak.
Number 4 - Magic - Earvin Johnson
Throughout Johnson's whole career he was known as Magic Johnson, and that name still sticks with him today. How did he get that nickname, you may ask. Well, when he was attending Everett High School, he got a triple-double of 36 points, 18 rebounds, and 16 assists. That seems pretty magical if you ask me.
Number 3 - The Mailman - Karl Malone
Karl Malone was dubbed the Mailman because, to put it in simple words, he would always deliver. You could always count on him to score as he has recorded the second most total points in NBA history! Just to reassure you of his dominance, he was a 14x All-Star, 2x MVP, 4x All-Defensive Team, and a definite Hall-of-Famer. So his nickname definitely works out for him.
Number 2 - Air Jordan - Michael Jordan
People may know MJ as the greatest NBA player in history, and that is correct. He averaged 30.1 points per game throughout his entire career. The nickname Air Jordan got directed to him because he was always soaring through the air. You could always count on him to dunk from the free-throw line and put on a show for the stadium.
Number 1 - The Black Mamba - Kobe Bryant
Kobe Bryant was one of the most competitive NBA players and had one of the best, if not, the best work ethic in history. He always had the Mamba mentality, "win at all costs," and this how he was dubbed the Black Mamba.
Is the man who led the Chicago Bulls to 6 NBA championships and holds 5 MVPs, better than 16-time all-star, 4-time MVP, and 3- time champion LeBron James?
Dylan - MJ: Throughout his career, MJ averaged an amazing 30.1 points per game. He was a beast on both sides of the ball, and could do a lot more then score. For a coach, MJ was someone who you could rely on to get you the win and put up solid numbers. For a teammate, he was someone who you new would have your back and help the team win.
He averaged a solid 6.2 rebounds per game, along with averaging 2.3 steals per game. With the help of Dennis Rodman, Scottie Pipen, and the rest of the Bulls squad, Jordan won 6 NBA championships and won finals MVP all 6 times.
There are also many arguments to prove that LeBron was the better player. He is a 16 time All-Star. In his career, he averaged 28.9 points per game, 8.9 rebounds per game, and 7.1 assists per game. LeBron was also an amazing defender. He averaged around 2 steals and one block per game. Those are some great stats!
Overall, MJ was the better player. Both players could do many great things on the court, but you can't say that 6 time champion and 14 time All-Star Micheal Jordan isn't the best basketball player of all time.
Rikhav - MJ: Michael Jordan is the more skilled player overall, but the big question is, "Would MJ have won all those rings and be that dominant without a players like Scottie Pipen or Dennis Rodman, or a coach like Phil Jackson?" The answer to that would probably be a hard no.
MJ would still be his team's go-to guy, but without Pipen, Rodman, or Jackson, he definitely wouldn't win 6 six rings. He would, however, win very, very, very many scoring titles. So I still think that MJ is the better player overall. But now let's talk about LeBron and what he did.
LeBron won 2 championships in Miami with Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh, and then when the three split up and LeBron headed for Cleveland, he also won a championship, proving that he didn't need specific teammates, coaches, or staff to win a title, which is pretty impressive.
But moving back to MJ, when you think of the top basketball win-at-all-cost mindsets/mentalities, MJ and Kobe Bryant are the players who pop up.
MJ also beat LeBron in points per game, steals per game, player efficiency, and many more so despite the fact that the two are both outstanding players, I would give the overall edge to MJ.
Jackson - MJ: When Jordan was playing for the Bulls, it was evident that he was the reason they were winning so many championships. But, that didn't mean his teammates didn't help him. Scottie Pipen, Dennis Rodman, and Phil Jackson (the head coach) all boosted him into being the greatest player of all time. And as this was happening they were improving as well.
This is something LeBron didn't have. Everywhere he went, his team won which means he didn't have the chemistry with his teammates that MJ had. For example, when MJ left for two years to go play professional baseball, the Bulls struggled to win. This happened because the Bull's chemistry was the reason that they won, unlike LeBron just going from team to team literally being their only hope.
Also, when you compare the long-term statistics, Jordan averaged about 4 more points than LeBron currently does. If that doesn't convince you, he also averaged 6.2 rebounds and 2.3 steals which proves he was not just a scorer, but a team player as well.
Lastly, MJ had an essential quality that LeBron didn't show as much; pushing your teammates to be the best they can be. Part of the reason that all of Michael's teammates improved is because he pushed and pushed and pushed them every practice and game to be better.
To wrap everything up, Michael Jordan was a better player than LeBron James.
The Warriors are looking for a bounce back season after their terrible record in the 2019-20 season. With the injured Klay Thompson, Steph Curry, and Draymond Green, ready for next season, things are looking very good for the Warriors future.
The Warriors terrible 15-50 record leaves them with the number one overall pick in the draft, which they can use to get a talented player such as Center, James Wiseman. In his time at Memphis, he averaged 19.7 points per game, as well as 10.7 rebounds per game. If they chose to draft someone other then Wiseman, they will still have young Marquese Chriss to take over the starting role at Center. The Warriors also have two second round draft picks which they can use to get more depth in their roster.
If the Warriors can fill in the pieces in their lineup, they will be a serious playoff, or even Championship contender in the years to come.
With the NBA season on hold due to COVID-19 the players performances in that short amount of time will be judged in awarding an MVP. Who do you think will take home the trophy?
Rikhav: James Harden
James Harden led the league in points per game with 34.4 while also managing to have an impressive amount of assists with 7.4 per game. He also led the league in win shares, (WS) which just shows how valuable of a player he is. He is also 6th in the league in steals per game with 1.7, so he can also be a defensive weapon. He also led the league in points, free throws made, three point field goals made, and many more, but one that stands out is that he led the league in value over replacement player. He has special talent that is very rare, and he is overall, the 2019/20 NBA's MVP. Why shouldn't he win this award? He is the second most efficient player in the league and all of his stats prove why Harden should move his MVP count to 2 (he won the award in the 2017/2018 season).
Dylan: Giannis Antetokounmpo
Giannis led the league in field goals made and averaged almost 30 points per game, along with averaging 13.7 rebounds per game. Giannis was a beast on both sides of the ball with all his rebounds and his points. He led the league in defensive rebounds and had one of the most free throw attempts in the NBA.
Giannis was the previous MVP and this season he led the Bucks to being the best team in the league. Giannis had the highest player efficiency rating in the whole NBA and with that led the Bucks to a 53-12 record. Giannis is looking for a second MVP title and the way he played this season, he deserves it.
