Authority

The Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps, generally referred to as JROTC, or sometimes, RO, is organized under authority of the National Defense act of 1916, and expanded in the ROTC Vitalization Act of 1964.


Mission

The mission of the Army JROTC is to motivate young people to be better citizens.


Core Abilities

The core abilities of the JROTC program are as follows:


    • Build your capacity for life-long learning.
    • Communicate using verbal, non-verbal, visual, and written techniques.
    • Take responsibility for your actions and choices.
    • Do your share as a good citizen in your school, community, country, and the world.
    • Treat self and others with respect.
    • Apply critical thinking techniques.


Additional objectives for the Red Bank Army JROTC Battalion are as follows:


    • Earn one half-credit Government or Civics after three successful years of JROTC
    • Earn one credit of Personal Health/Wellness after one successful year of JROTC
    • Earn one-half credit for Physical Education after two successful years of JROTC
    • Earn one credit for Personal Finance after two successful years of JROTC
    • Earn a Senior Project credit
    • Earn one credit following two successful years of JROTC for Personal Finance
    • Earn one credit following two successful years of JROTC for U.S. Government
    • All of the aforementioned credits are available following three successful years of JROTC
